Shreesha's Beautiful Weaning Ceremony – A Celebration of Tradition, Love, and New Beginnings
Every Weaning Ceremony (Pasni) is more than just a family celebration—it's a beautiful way of passing our culture, traditions, and blessings to the next generation.

Shreesha's special day began with a traditional home ceremony in Kogarah, NSW, where close family gathered to celebrate every sacred ritual, from the milk bath to her very first grains of rice. The celebrations then continued at Jharana Function Centre, Rockdale, where family and friends came together with music, dance, laughter, and heartfelt blessings to celebrate this precious milestone.

These are the moments that keep our heritage alive and become treasured memories for a lifetime.

🎥 Watch this short highlight video to experience the joy, emotions, and beautiful moments of Shreesha's unforgettable Weaning Ceremony.

Brivaan's Weaning Ceremony ❤️

We travelled to Penrith to capture Brivaan's weaning ceremony. Luckily, I found the house without any trouble and, even better, managed to find a parking spot straight away!

As soon as I stepped inside, I was welcomed by the peaceful sound of Vedic mantras. A priest was performing the puja, blessing little Brivaan with prayers for a healthy, happy, and prosperous life.

Brivaan's dad was completely immersed in the rituals, while his mum was quietly making sure everything was perfect for the special day. The entire house was filled with warmth, positivity, and the beautiful energy that only family traditions can create.

Living thousands of kilometres away from Nepal, it was heartwarming to see a family staying so deeply connected to their roots. Traditions like these are more than rituals—they are gifts passed from one generation to the next, ensuring that our culture continues to live on.

Understanding that I had only three hours to document the day, Brivaan's grandfather kindly encouraged his son to step away from the ceremony for a few minutes so we could begin the photo session. That small gesture said so much about how much this family valued creating memories.

The love between Brivaan's parents was effortless and beautiful, so we captured a few portraits of them first. After Brivaan enjoyed his traditional milk bath and changed into his gorgeous traditional outfit, we stepped outside for a short family session near their home.

Everyone was incredibly cooperative—from the baby and family members to the priest himself. They all understood that while ceremonies eventually come to an end, photographs keep those moments alive forever.

After our portrait session, everyone gathered once again for the most anticipated moment of the day—Brivaan's first taste of rice, surrounded by the love and blessings of his entire family.
