Leno Newarni Nancy was still recovering from childbirth. When I asked whether she would feel comfortable sitting down for a photograph with her little girl, she honestly told me it might be difficult, but she was willing to give it a try.

As a photographer, I always want my clients to feel comfortable, and especially new mothers who are still healing and adjusting to life with their newborn. I knew we needed to take things gently and work around how Nancy was feeling.

Then, something beautiful happened.

Nancy settled beside her precious little girl. She looked down at Vyomi, and for a moment, everything else seemed to disappear. There was no posing, no direction, and no need for me to tell her what to do.

She simply leaned forward and kissed her baby.

A mother's kiss. A tiny newborn sleeping peacefully. A love that needs no words. 🥹🤍

And you know what happened next?

I didn't miss the shot.

Vyomi’s Newborn Photoshoot | A Memory I Was So Happy to Capture 📸

As a newborn photographer, one of my favourite moments to capture the bond between the siblings in front of my camera. There is something so beautiful about this moment. I asked Skyla, if should carry her sister in her lap and she was over the clouds as, she was dying to do that.

I could see the excitement in her eyes, the pride in her smile, and the little sense of responsibility she suddenly feels for this tiny person who has just joined her world.

Of course, when photographing newborns with their siblings, safety always comes first. Once everything was comfortably and safely arranged, we began the session.

I asked the sisters to smile for the camera. But then, something happened that made me smile behind my camera, too.

Vyomi started smiling even before her big sister!

For a moment, it felt as though she was already enjoying Skyla’s company. Perhaps it was just one of those beautiful little expressions newborns make, but as a photographer, I couldn't help feeling happy that I was there to capture it.

I pressed the shutter, and that fleeting moment became a photograph.

I often think about how quickly these little things change. Today, Vyomi is tiny enough to fit in her sister’s arms. A few years from now, they might be running around together, sharing secrets, playing, laughing, and sometimes arguing like sisters do. And many years later, this photograph will remind them of where their story together began.

That is what I love most about photography. I am not simply taking pictures; I am preserving moments that families may not fully appreciate today but will treasure more deeply as time passes.

Skyla and Vyomi, I hope that one day, when you look at this photograph together, you will see more than two little sisters. I hope you will see the beginning of a lifelong friendship, a bond that grows with every passing year, and a memory your family will always hold close.

Sushmita Thapa — The Doorway to a New Beginning ❤️✨

DEEVA TIMALSINA's Newborn shoot | Thikthak | Prestons

A few weeks ago, Dipesh ji messaged me saying he had seen the newborn photographs of my school buddy Suraj and asked, “Can I bring my baby for a photoshoot?”

There was just one little catch — the baby was already nearly 2 months old!

I said, “We can definitely give it a try.”

Dipesh ji confidently replied, “She is very adorable and rarely cries.”

This week, we found out that he was absolutely right. She was adorable, calm and such a charm to photograph.

Of course, at nearly two months, she wasn't exactly interested in following the photographer's instructions! So we took our time. We let her settle, cuddle, relax and get comfortable. We photographed her only when she decided it was the right time.

Basically, she was the boss. We were just the employees.

And then there was Bhauju — looking absolutely amazing, with a perfect jawline. I couldn't resist asking Dipesh ji, “How is this possible during the postpartum period?”

His answer?

“Naturally… and being vegetarian helps!”

The whole session turned into much more than just a photoshoot. We talked, laughed, relaxed and had some wonderful conversations — especially with their 8-year-old son Deepansh, who definitely had plenty to say!

In the end, we got some beautiful photographs and, more importantly, a beautiful memory of this little family.
