🐴 A Thirsty Horse|Horse Head Rock from Above

Captured from an aerial perspective, Horse Head Rock looks just like a horse drinking from the sea. The high tide made it impossible to walk closer that morning, so I turned to my drone to capture this stunning view.

📍 Location: Bermagui, New South Wales
✨ The combination of the crystal-clear water and the rugged texture of the rock makes this a truly magical spot. Seeing it from above adds an entirely new dimension to its beauty!

Tips for Visiting:
• Check the tide schedule; the walking track might be submerged during high tide.
• A drone is perfect for capturing this kind of scene, especially during sunrise or sunset.

Afternoon Aerials: Lakes Entrance from Above

Day 2 of our Sydney to Melbourne road trip brought us to the breathtaking Lakes Entrance. Capturing this beauty with a drone in the afternoon light was a dream come true. While it lacked the golden glow of sunrise or sunset, the soft, natural lighting revealed the serene blue and green hues of the water, creating an atmosphere of peace and calm.

✨ Highlights from the sky:
• Winding waterways: A ribbon of blue winding from the lakes to the ocean, shimmering under the gentle afternoon sun.
• Harbor and town: Quaint buildings and boats add charm and life to the peaceful scenery.
• Lake meets ocean: The clear boundary between the lake and the sea is stunning from above, with rich textures and colors.

📸 Tips for drone shots:
• Afternoon light is perfect for balanced, soft tones.
• Use an ND filter to reduce glare and enhance colors.
• Focus on the curves of the waterways for a dynamic composition.

Even in the afternoon, Lakes Entrance delivers incredible views that are worth flying your drone for! This spot is a must-visit for aerial photography enthusiasts.

3 hours from Sydney to the stunning White Sands of Jervis Bay. Captured at noon, the vibrant emerald hues of the water contrast beautifully with the snow-like sand, creating a paradise-like view. From above, everything looks almost unreal.

🌿 Best Time to Shoot: Noon for vivid water colors, but don’t forget sunscreen!
📷 Gear Suggestion: A drone for stunning aerial contrasts, but even a phone can do wonders.
🚗 Drive Details: A 3-hour drive from Sydney with plenty of scenic stops along the way.

✨ Sunrise Reflections: The Floating Forest at Wentworth Point ✨

🌿 Nature’s resilience meets time’s artistry. The SS Ayrfield, a century-old abandoned ship, has transformed into a “floating forest,” its hull now teeming with lush green vegetation. In the stillness of dawn, the calm waters mirrored the ship and sky, creating a surreal “Sky Mirror” effect.

📷 Shot Tips:
1️⃣ Sunrise is the perfect time for soft light and vivid reflections.
2️⃣ Use a drone to capture the symmetry and the ship’s unique green details from above.
3️⃣ Enhance the greens and warm tones during editing to highlight the contrast of life and decay.

🗺️ Location: Wentworth Point, near Sydney Olympic Park. Take a peaceful walk along the path, and you’ll find this hidden gem.

🌕 Pink Supermoon Tonight! 🌕
What a breathtaking view! I captured the Hornby Lighthouse from across the harbor in Sydney with my 400mm lens, and the details were stunning. After work, I grabbed my camera and rushed to the spot, but what should have been a 20-minute drive turned into 50 minutes due to peak hour traffic and an accident on the habour bridge. Almost missed the 7 PM moonrise, but thankfully made it just in time for this celestial beauty.

Caught the tail end of the aurora at 9:42pm here in Sydney. Camera just managed to pick up a hint of pink, and there were still plenty of people gathered by the cliffs. Waited in vain though—the real show came later in the night with clouds and lightning.

‘Moonset at Sydney Tower Eye’
Perfect weather condition last Sunday for a Moonset shot. The moon was falling fairly quick and positioned behind the iconic Sydney Tower Eye. For those who are curious about the focal length, This is actually a 200mm shot with cropping thanks to Sony A7R4’s 42 Mega Pixel high resolution.
