Why I'm taking part:
Blood cancer is Australia's hidden cancer crisis. There are 140,000 families facing blood cancer right now. And it takes the lives of 16 Australians every day.
Having various types of cancer affect family and friends, it can be hard not to feel helpless. Especially when chemo treatments have side effects like loss of hair.
Since the end of 2021 I've decided to play the long game and grow my hair out having it long enough to be cut, donated and turned into a wig of sorts with hope for those who would want and need a new crown in their fight for cancer.
I'll hopefully be cutting and shaving my hair Sunday March 17th, 2024 a couple of days before my birthday.
With this in mind I'm raising funds for the Leukaemia Foundation to give Australians facing blood cancer life-changing practical and emotional support.
Also to help fund critical research, bringing us closer to the day when zero lives are lost to blood cancer.
