Since Instagram completely cut off the sweeping views of the ranges in my last post (thanks, algorithm! 🙃) (I hope you saw the full image on my story I posted later) I have decided to share something with what I have been working on with that particular photo.

I’ve been studying art for a while years. This year I did a course with the amazing talented Sarah McDonald in her Expressive Landscape Course, at Grampians Summer Brushes - wow what a teacher and course - this course gave my confidence back.

I was nervous taking my photos to canvas - not sure why, maybe worried they wouldn’t capture what I felt when I took them. This was one of my first translation from the photograph to the physical texture on the canvas using palette knives. It was such a wonderful experience capturing this image on the canvas.

It’s been a while since I shared a photograph on my grid. I needed a break from posting for a few reasons, but I’m finally ready to share my photography again. I’m also excited to introduce a new way I’ve been expressing myself lately—something I find completely relaxing, healing, and incredibly supportive of my mental health.

This is a glimpse of the incredible Ikara-Flinders National Park. It was a standout moment from an amazing, whirlwind three-month trip around Australia—what an incredible country we live in. We only had a few days to explore this spectacular area, but its raw, remote outback energy completely captured my imagination and my heart. I already can’t wait to go back and spend more time there.
Standing on this ridge with the Flinders range fading into the distance, watching the parrots sitting perfectly on the grass trees, was such a special moment to capture. I fell in love with the immense expanse of the area, the deep peace and quiet, and the sheer realness of the landscape.

Have you ever been to the Flinders Ranges, or an area that made you feel completely at peace like this? I’d love to hear about it. ✨

Golden Sunset
Another stunning sunset over beautiful Lake Conjola. Love how this image highlights the burnt trees on the other side of the lake. The trees do have regrowth located on their lower branches.
I pray the devastating bushfires we had that summer never happen again.
