I’ve crawled out of the dark pits and finally found myself again, thank you for sticking by.
A self portrait series I call “Self Destruct”
As an artist I find it easy to create but harder to cope. Whenever my confidence takes a hit, my creativity seems to disappear with it. Art tends to fall down first, heart and soul follows, lack of drive and passion.. I guess that’s the downside of being an artist. you feel things a little more than the average person. Lots of self deprecating thoughts and beating myself down, “saying I’m not good enough” or “no one cares”. Finding the nearest distraction to take me away from these feelings instead of facing them head on, confronting them and falling forwards not backwards.
This photo series is about that self destruct mode.. the main feeling of paralysis.
Every time I wanted to create. Something pulled me back into the darkness and I watched ideas die before they ever had the chance to exist simply because of my self doubt. My will to create and express myself, my self wasn’t even there. Anyway I’m getting back to my roots and have remembered why I do this, why I make art and and the way it makes myself and others feel. i hope you enjoy this photo series made with zero Ai and hours of editing lol. its taken me a couple months to create this. I started to do it when the feeling first struck but yeah. we are so back, i finally finished it.
I got the spike inspiration from sculpture artist Sugar Spike Girls with their amazing glass spiked sculpture I resonated with a lot ❤️🩹
