DesignMonster is the result of Andrew Evans' imagination while he was completing his Bachelor of Design & Visual Communication at Western Sydney University back in 2011. Originally coming up with the concept first called "The Design Monsters", Andrew explored the idea of what it takes to feed your "Design Monster", the thing inside you that appreciates a beautifully designed magazine, or a captiva

ting photograph, as part of his major work in his final year. Since then, Andrew has been developing his photography skills, while working in a variety of graphic design roles, and most recently been working full time as a UX/UI Designer at InfoTrack. In the last few years Andrew has had a special interest in live music photography, starting out by taking photos photos of bands playing at his local pub, to shooting music festivals such as Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival & Unify Gathering, plus many other shows big and small up and down the east coast of Australia.

Really sad to hear the news today that will no longer be including Marion Bay, Tasmania. This festival and location in particular holds a very special place in my heart. It was the first ‘big’ festival I ever got to photograph with an AAA VIP pass, which meant I was allowed to get even closer and more personal with the artists than ever before, but it was also what gave me the first opportunity to visit magical and Marion Bay is the kind of place that makes music festivals feel even more special because of its pristine environment, ocean views, and groovy good vibes in general. It was here I not only got to photograph but also be within a couple of metres of pictures here just moments before he took his shirt off and all the women in the audience got pregnant. Knowing this particular leg of Falls will no longer be included stings a bit, but also makes me extremely grateful for the two amazing years I had the opportunity to attend as an official photographer there and all the great memories I made. If anything it makes me more excited to dust the camera off again after a couple years off and dive back into new and exciting adventures with live music.
