I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Rizi Photography for making this incredible astro photography trip possible. Without your guidance, I wouldn't have dared to venture so far into this amazing experience. This image will always hold a special place for me, not only due to its beauty but also because of the nerve-wracking story behind it. Our quest to get closer to the lake led us down an unexpected trail, which turned out to be quicksand. Although I realized the unsuitability of the path just a few meters in, my car's back wheels got caught in a puddle, leaving them covered in mud and rendering the tires almost bald.
Recognizing the challenge of navigating back through the treacherous terrain, I immediately said to Rizi that finding an alternative was crucial. The attempt to turn back became a nightmare, as my car's sinking wheels made each movement increasingly difficult. With determination, I managed to maneuver the car around, but the tires were now completely bald due to the sand buildup.
When reached same puddle again it was almost impossible to drive through it with condition of tyres,
Our solution involved filling the puddle with dry branches and bushes, utilizing whatever we could find to create a makeshift path. I had to drive with one side of the car elevated on a hump, raising it to the height of the middle of the door. At one point, I even feared the car might flip.
Fortunately, we successfully navigated our way out of that challenging situation. If we had become stuck, the remote location would have posed a significant obstacle to obtaining help, as the lack of phone reception and distance from the road would have made assistance hard to come by.

Mungo National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage-listed national park located in New South Wales, Australia. It is part of the Willandra Lakes Region, which is known for its significant archaeological and cultural heritage.
Key features of Mungo National Park include:
Mungo Lunette: The park's most famous feature is the Mungo Lunette, a crescent-shaped sand dune. The lunette contains important Aboriginal archaeological sites and is famous for the discovery of the remains of Mungo Lady and Mungo Man, which date back over 40,000 years.
Walls of China: The Walls of China are striking formations located within the Mungo Lunette. These eroded sand and clay formations create a unique landscape, with layers of sediment that reveal the area's environmental history.
Lake Mungo: The park is situated around the dry bed of Lake Mungo, which was once a large lake in the Willandra Lakes system. The lake bed contains significant cultural artifacts and is an important site for understanding Aboriginal history and heritage.
Aboriginal heritage: Mungo National Park holds immense cultural significance to the Aboriginal people, particularly the Ngyiampaa, Mutthi Mutthi, and Southern Paakantyi/Paakantji communities. The park's archaeological sites provide insights into the Aboriginal occupation and cultural practices spanning thousands of years.
Visitor facilities: The park offers various visitor facilities, including camping grounds, picnic areas, and walking tracks. Guided tours are available to explore the park and learn about its cultural and natural heritage.

Last month, I had the opportunity to visit this stunning location. Interestingly, on a previous attempt to reach the Glasshouse rocks , I ended up shooting at Australia Rock due to our lack of knowledge about the proper entry point to the beach. This time, I was determined to either capture these beautiful rocks or not shooting altogether.
Luckily found the right trail to the beach that wasn't hard to find.
However, I made a rookie mistake while trying to capture the sky. After carefully aligning tracker and setting up the composition, I took a two-minute exposure shot, only to discover that the tracker was completely misaligned, resulting in star trails throughout the photo. Frustrated by this error, I dismantled the setup, realigned the tracker, and took another shot, which unfortunately still had trails.
Assuming that the batteries might have died and caused the tracker malfunction, I fortunately had spare batteries in my camera bag. I replaced the batteries, realigned the tracker once again, and took a shot. Much to my surprise, the tracker was still not aligned properly. Upon closer inspection, I realized that the tracker had been erroneously set to the Northern Hemisphere instead of the Southern Hemisphere.

In the journey of life, may you find the courage to traverse the winding road that leads to the majestic mountains, for beyond their towering peaks lies a path to the cosmos. Look up and witness the Milky Way adorning the night sky, a celestial reminder that every step taken towards the unknown is a step closer to discovering the limitless wonders that await.
I was captivated by one of the most stunning displays of airglow I have ever witnessed, I had to subtly diminish the intensity of the red hues to achieve a more authentic and natural appearance.

A few days ago, Rizi Photography and I had a plan to visit a dark sky place few hours from Canberra. Our goal was to capture the breathtaking rise of the milkyway, create some star trails with reflections, and capture setting milkyway in the early morning hours. However, just 10 minutes before reaching our destination, we were disheartened to discover that the road was blocked. We found ourselves stranded in the middle of nowhere with no backup plans.
As we're accustomed to our trips not going as planned, so we didn't let it dampen our spirits. Instead, we decided to explore some nearby churches that we had previously bookmarked. To our delight, we stumbled upon a magnificent church nestled amidst picturesque fields. Despite the biting cold that left our fingers numb, the pursuit of capturing the milkyway allowed us to forget about everything else.
In the end, our unexpected detour turned out to be a blessing in disguise. We embraced the serendipity of the moment, immersing ourselves in the ethereal beauty of the night sky, and creating memories that will forever be etched in our minds.
I want to express my gratitude to Rizi for being that adventurous companion who is always up for spontaneous adventures without the need for extensive planning.

Embarking on unplanned journeys can often lead to the most memorable experiences, and this was certainly one of those trips. The sight of the Aurora Australis was a long-held dream, but previous attempts to capture it were hindered by unfavorable weather conditions or sometimes unforeseen circumstances. However, on this occasion, all the elements aligned perfectly, providing a feast for the eyes. At one point, the Aurora was even visible to the naked eye, making it a truly unforgettable spectacle. My heartfelt gratitude goes to Rizi Photography and Debo , whose efforts made this dream a reality.

Mungo National Park provides a unique insight into the ancient landscape of the Australia and history of the Australian people.
The landscape of Australia is ever changing and with Mungo National Park, those changes can be dated as far back as 32 million years ago.
It was around this time that the ocean flooded the Murrary Darling Basin, turning south-western NSW into an inland sea. After 25 million years, the ocean retreated but water levels in the area continued to fluctuate as surrounding river systems flooded.
By 150,000 years ago, Lake Mungo and the surrounding Willandra Lakes had been established.
Around 60,000 years ago, the established lakes filled, marking a period of climate stability and biological abundance. Lake Mungo was 15 metres deep, teeming with fish and mussels. Human artefacts have been found at Mungo and date back as far as 45,000 years ago. But the most important discoveries were made in the 1960's and 1970's when both male and female remains were found at the lake. Mungo Lady and Mungo Man are 42,000 years old and hold an important place in arechelogical history.
Evidence of human life at Mungo began to slowly decrease 22,000 years ago. This was as the world entered the last ice age, resulting in the Australian outback becoming cool, dry and windy. The lakes began to dry out and it is believed that the Indigenous people moved north, as the food sources had diminished. The wind deposited salt from the lakes on the land and further layers of sand were deposited. Around 18,000 years ago, the ice age finished and there was a return of vegetation to the area.
Approximately 10,000 years ago when the ice age was well and truly over, a relatively stable, semi-arid climate settles into the area. The landscape ceases to change and with no disruptions from earth quakes or volcanoes, the unique lunar landscape that is Mungo today is established.
