I’ve received quite a few messages over the past few weeks from people wondering where I’ve disappeared to, so I thought it was time to share a little life update and let you all know about some big changes happening behind the scenes.
After a lot of thought (and more than a few mixed emotions), I’ve made the decision to close my photography studio.
This has definitely been a bittersweet decision. Building this business from the ground up has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but without a doubt, it has also been one of the most rewarding.
Over the past 12 years, I’ve had the incredible privilege of photographing so many beautiful families. Some of you have returned to me time and time again, allowing me to capture your growing families from newborns through to childhood, and that is something I will always be so grateful for. I’ve loved creating artwork from your baby's very first portraits, but more than anything, I’ve treasured the connections, conversations, and special moments I’ve shared with so many wonderful people who trusted me with such precious memories.
But don't panic just yet! My photography journey isn't ending.
I simply love photography too much to walk away from it completely, so I’ll still be offering outdoor family photography sessions. Being surrounded by nature has always been one of my favourite ways to photograph families, and I’m so excited to continue creating relaxed, genuine and timeless images that tell your family's story—photographs you'll love for years to come, rather than just following the latest trends.
This wasn't a decision I made lightly, but it was the right one.
For those who may not know, I’m now halfway through a teaching degree. Teaching has been a dream of mine for many years, and now that my own children are a little older, it finally felt like the right time to pursue it. This year, the workload has increased significantly, and with university placements, assignments, study commitments, running a business, and of course being there for my own family, something had to give.
