WE CAME FROM FIRE. “Joey Lawrence.”
As soon as I opened this book and began taking in these portraits of Kurdish fighters and families in Iraq and Syria all I wanted to do was cry. Joey has done a beautiful job at bringing humanity back into the darkest of times. I admire that he went to great lengths to take these photographs and publish this book.
These photos are breathtaking but are also very special to me as they are from a place that last year completely changed my life and faith.
Also since I started to get into photography seven years ago there have been three photographers who have deeply inspired and influenced my photography. One of them is the amazing , so it’s an honour to now finally have his work in physical form.
Thank you and team, you have done beyond an amazing job with capturing a story and sharing a light on what was a dark time for the entire world.

Freedom to Speak
When we visited Central Asia we met up with Christians who live in a country where your constantly being monitored, sharing your faith to anyone under the age of 16 is illegal and being a Christian can be seen as great a threat as terrorism.
Despite this level of pressure on their faith they still say they are blessed that they have freedom to speak. That blew us away because if they have freedom to speak then what do we have here in Australia and why do we go silent?
I wrestle with comments like this not because I feel guilty with my life but because somewhere along the line something made me go quiet and believe that I didn’t have freedom to speak, when all along I did yet was living in a lie or a place where I preferred to stay silent than speak up.
I still don’t truly understand why we go silent, that I’m still trying to understand. So I’m praying for the church globally that we won’t go silent but instead we get the courage to speak.

Like nothing I’ve seen before, Mountain Ranges of Central Asia.
I’ve seen the scale of Yosemite, I’ve experienced the beauty of Banff, I’ve witnessed the landscape of Sikkim in the Himalayas. What I’ve never seen before and that’s impacted my life the most is not the mountain ranges of Central Asia, it’s the faith of persecuted Christians.
We didn’t go to see another amazing landscape, we went to meet persecuted Christians. Christians who I’ve never seen live under such heavy oppression trying to silence their faith but instead of going quiet, they constantly worship louder than I’ve ever heard anyone worship before. They constantly read their bibles, to truly understand and live so intimately in the word. They’re constantly loving others more than I’ve ever seen anyone love another person before. They’re constantly in prayer with God every hour of the day.
I’ve travelled to some amazing places in this world, and seen some spectacular things but it’s not places that impact me so deeply, it’s people and God.
So I hope I’m able to use these stories to help grow not just my own faith but the faith of others like yourself too.
God bless.

Striking yet adorable, fierce yet gentle, she is my insanely beautiful wife!
It’s an ongoing joke between us that we are trying to work out where Beth is originally from. Just look at her, it’s as if when God was creating her he decided he would give her all the most gorgeous features from every nationality in the world. Now which one does she look like most? Heaven? Because she is an angel 🤮🤦‍♂️😘

Over the last week in Papua New Guinea we’ve been doing commercial drone work for a global company, but I’ve actually been quite blown away with everything I’ve learned from a Not For profit/philanthropist point of view.
I’ve learned and seen how a global company can actually have a major positive impact and influence on their local community, environment and country.
Imagine if every business globally even slightly adopted this philanthropist like spirit, and imagine the impact that would have! I’m excited to apply what I’ve learnt from this trip, and I look forward to discovering more philanthropy stories like this.
Anyone else interested in philanthropy? Let’s catch up and chat!

The Power of Education.
All it takes is education to see generational sustainable change and impact.
To be honest, including myself I think we could all use some more education with what’s happening globally and how we can live a purposeful lifestyle today.
Our friend Geoff who runs and helps kids living in poverty said; “It’s not about taking the kids out of the slums, it’s about taking the slums out of the kids.”
Sustainable generational change doesn’t come by force, it comes by education. So let’s started getting more educated.

The Real Bali - Educating Youth - Akademi Kristus.
Repost from The Messengers Global showcasing my recent work in Bali, visit page to find link in description to full video!
“Most know Bali for the travel destination it is, but not many know what goes on behind the scenes.
Step into the life of Geoff and Erma who run Akademi Kristus Bali, a Not for profit based in Sanur helping youth and families in poverty.
They teach mix martial arts, give kids an education, support for those living with a disability and help families in need.”
