In 2022, I had the opportunity to be camera op on a music video production, this was my first ever music video. As a solo videographer, I had no idea what a gaffer did on set, nor how to communicate my vision properly to them. But this my first time seeing what could be achieved creatively outside of my own solo practices and ever since then, I've been actively creating music videos with a variety of different artists.

Over the years, I've had an absolute blast creating music videos either through camera and lighting. I love hearing the outrageous ideas that directors and artists come up with and creating a plan to execute them no matter how far they want to take it.

When I had my first interaction with lighting, I started with a small tube light and a 200w LED. From that, I learned what was actually achievable with a smaller kit and it shaped lighting principles I still carry with me today.

Now, while handling all things end-to-end in video production, I also offer lighting services as part of my service offerings.

For years, filmmaking was both a full-time gig and a side hustle. I was balancing both worlds, one that kept me stable, the other kept me creative.

I valued what both brought to the table, but it became increasingly clear that it was going to be difficult to grow while holding onto my full-time job. I love being creative, making great videos, and working with awesome people.

I made the decision this year that it was time to give it my best shot, I'm all in on this freelance video production business. This has been several years in the making, waiting for the right time, the right project, the right client. Turns out, there really isn't the right time, you just have to send it sometimes.

I'm looking forward to this new chapter for CoJones Productions and building this brand to what I believe it could be. Stay tuned.
