Whisper to me more. And more.

These are the moments I quietly look for throughout a wedding day.
The way two people lean into each other without even realising it.

Little pockets of intimacy that happen naturally in between everything else.

So sneaky.

And I love it.

Tender moments, caught in the veil.

so many mixed emotions, running through the mind.
tingling fingers, butterflies in the stomach,
contentment, ecstasy
the wait, the shield, the cover
the mask, then the reveal..

If walls could talk, rooms like this would have the best stories.

Sometimes I wonder if dresses remember the stories they witness too.

I’m often drawn to the details in a dim reception
when everything softens and no one’s really watching

I end up playing with angles, light, and shadow
seeing where it takes me

always drawn to something romantic,
with a little bit of the unexpected

if this feels like your kind of story, I’d love to hear about it 🥺

Thinking back to that night at the Art Gallery.

After the ceremony, the halls slowly quieted down. The dim lights on the marble columns, the high ceilings above us… it almost felt like a small bubble had formed around us, leaving just us there for a moment.

A little mysterious.
A little cinematic.

Almost like the gallery itself was quietly watching.

We stayed there for a minute before heading back towards the wild and loud. Before rolling into the music, the chatter, and everything that filled the night with joy.

Don’t be surprised if I ask you to stop in the middle of anywhere for a few photos. 🫣

Sometimes a little pause is all we need.

Sometimes brides in veils remind me of pilgrims.

And lovers are like pilgrims.

They move forward with a quiet belief in love, trusting the journey while knowing there is still so much waiting ahead.

Being surrounded by these one-of-a-kind couples somehow makes me feel a little special too.

Sometimes I wonder… if I help preserve your most beautiful memories, will a little piece of mine be preserved forever as well?

Something about fashion-inspired bridal portraits with a slightly mysterious mood.

I’ve always been a bit of a sucker for fairytales and mysterious stories.

Something romantic, but with just enough edge to keep it interesting. I also find myself constantly inspired by people. Often the idea begins with the person themselves.

The poses were loosely inspired by an angelic statue emerging from the wall, if I remember right. Sometimes ideas come from the most unexpected places.

Moments like this are the reason I love editorial portraits…

Still a little obsessed.

Some corners of Sydney always feel made for portraits like this.

The stone corridors and pillars around the State Library have this quiet, timeless feeling. It almost feels like stepping into another era for a moment.

And just a short walk away the Royal Botanic Garden opens up with fountains, florals and all that iconic harbour view. I still scout from time to time to find inspirations, even though I’ve photographed these places many times. It’s always a lovely excuse to fall in love with this city again, and finding new ideas is just a bonus.

And I usually suggest little props depending on the location, their personalities, the weather and what they’re wearing. Sometimes something simple can make the whole story come together in a really natural way.

If you were planning portraits in Sydney, would you choose the city or the coast?
