Something clients often want to know, is when is the best time to book in for newborn photos 👶

The short answer is… as soon as possible!

When you book your photos in I pencil you in for the month of your due date. This isn’t a locked in session date, but simply a placeholder in my calendar 🗓️

I only take on a limited number of newborn sessions a month, so that once baby arrives you will always be guaranteed a date that works for you!

The added bonus is that if baby changes the plan, making an early entrance or being late to the party, we can easily move your session around.

PS. This also works if you are wanting an older baby newborn session! We will just pencil it in to the appropriate month 💛

There are an infinite number of reasons why I love in-home newborn sessions ✨

But my number one reason would have to be…

The nostalgia 🌙

I personally don’t think any other location could recreate the same level of nostalgia captured in an in-home session.

Just you and your precious, new baby, captured in the place that means the most 💛

Feel free to disagree, but my honest opinion is that the more spontaneous the session, the more memorable the photos ✨

If you’re unsure what I mean, let me explain…

I’m talking about sessions where you book and choose a location, but rock up without making any other plans or setting any expectations.

Sessions where we take whatever the weather throws at us, and make it work.

Sessions where we simply spend our time exploring and playing.

Sessions that truly reflect who you are as a family, not what your Pinterest board portrays.

Sessions that turn into childhood memories.

Sessions just like this 💛 The most perfect Short Story session; a simple morning at the park, watching the ducks, picking flowers and exploring.

PS. If you didn’t already know, I only take on one Short Story each month! You choose a location that represents your family (cafe, ice cream shop, skatepark etc.), and I’ll capture the memories! If this sounds like your thing, make sure you flick me a message 💌

Want to know the best part of my job?

It’s meeting new clients as strangers, then seeing you again as friends.

It’s being asked back time and time again, and having the pleasure of watching your story being written.

It’s the excitement of getting to meet your baby I captured in the bump, and having the genuine feeling I’m catching up with friends.

And I honestly believe it makes a huge difference when it comes to your photos.

Who else is ready for Summer? 🌺

I’m not at all a fan of cold weather, so this recent sunshine is getting me super excited for warm Summer days (and nights!)

Days much like this one, when I was lucky enough to shoot alongside the wonderful EMMA WAND ☮︎ PHOTOGRAPHER & EDUCATOR at one of her epic mentoring days.

I’m also not at all an early bird 🫣, but this was 100% worth leaving home at the crack of dawn for (literally 3am)! Sunrise on the South Coast was absolutely magic ✨

In-home newborn sessions just hit differently. Let me tell you why 👇

At an in-home session, we of course are able to capture beautiful portraits, and all the little details of your scrumptious newborn.

BUT we are also able to capture even more of this fleeting chapter…

The in-between moments ✨

The moments that right now feel like they will last forever, but will quickly fade into memories.

Changing nappies,
quiet moments feeding, and
snuggles on the couch.

These memories may not seem important now, but one day they will be everything.
