So lucky to do what I do, and to love it. I worked in sport for many years which I absolutely loved too. I love how sport brings people together - playing or not, the opportunities it can give to people; the emotions - the hope, the joy, the sadness. All lessons learnt on a field / court etc that we can apply to real life.

I got to here and have realised i’m not really sure the point of my ramble but I was trying to get to a point to say something about celebrating regardless of outcomes, that you should celebrate your family and to do that by booking a photoshoot. Probably should have used ChatGPT.

Ash’s walls are full of pictures taken by me, it feels pretty special to look at the different moments and know that everyday they are there for them to look at, for their two boys and soon their third boy, to remember those moments and that they will always have them.

How special to have these two boys just a year apart — they’re bound to be the best of friends. I feel so lucky to have captured them both as newborns.

It’s always amazing to see the “gene lottery” at play — how two siblings can look and be so completely different, whether in personality, features, or both! My two are almost opposites in every way; you’d hardly guess they’re brothers.

Of course, these things will keep evolving as they grow, which is why I love making sure we capture every season along the way.

I’m obsessed with photographing newborns because I know how much these photos will mean. I know the weight they’ll carry in a year… in ten years. I know because I’ve watched my babies suddenly not be babies anymore, seemingly overnight.

When I look back at the newborn images we had taken by the amazing , I’m not just seeing photos — I’m transported. I’m back in the hazy, heart-full whirlwind of those first days. I can feel the weight of that tiny body in my arms again, hear the little squeaks and sighs, smell that warm newborn scent. I remember the chaos — the mess, the exhaustion — but more than anything, I remember the love. That overwhelming, all-consuming, life-altering love.

The joy of working with children?
I get to have all the fun, the adventures, the silly games… and the children get to have your undivided attention for the morning…and then you get the photos to show what a great time you all had.

No pressure, no expectations. I’m not here to judge what your child is doing “right” or “wrong.” In fact, the less we ask of them, the more they give of themselves — naturally and freely.

I love some newborn squish but there’s something pretty special in that six to twelve month age range. Generally super happy, or easily pleased with some food or a quick nap when not, smiles galore, learning first to sit up and then move either through a crawl or rolling around.

Responding enthusiastically to your words, spoken or wildly sung, even if you don’t have the range of Adele or Taylor - they think you’re the best. The naps might not always be at the same time every day, but you’re starting to feel like you could even…if that’s on your radar….do this again 😱

Capture the now, whatever stage that ‘now’ is. It’s just the right time.
