Meet Manta #1526 or “Last Chance Dear” as he’s now known.
So happy to get to name my a 3rd Manta Ray 💙

The name was chosen, after a weekend in Byron Bay where after 5 dives, 8 hours in the water I hadn’t seen any Manta Rays- That EVERYONE else had been seeing and messaging me about.
Then, after giving up, some divers came up and said “manta under the boat”
So I quickly got my stuff, and jumped back in and managed to find him, and get a couple of dives down and got a nice belly shot. … and 5 mins later we were heading back to shore.
Better late than never 😅

Sunshine Of My Life

I love diving with animals in shallow water, and being able to shoot the beautiful sunlight that comes through.
It really helps put the focus on the subject and also add something more interesting to the scene ☀️

Hypselodoris Bennetti Nudibranch

Did you know- the 2 pink antennae like things are called “Rhinophores”, and they are how a Nudibranch smells and senses.
To protect them from prey, they are able to retract them when necessary.

Mouthful ~ Can you see the eyes 👀 of the babies inside this Gobbleguts mouth? How amazing is nature 🤯

The male Gobbleguts, found in Sydney Harbour, keeps the eggs of its offspring inside its mouth until they are ready to hatch.
This was my first time seeing the eggs mature enough, that you could see the eyes of the unborn babies inside

~ Lionfish ~ Byron Bay.

If anyone has ever tried to photograph a Lionfish, they’ll know how annoying they are. Always looking away as soon as your point the camera at them.
So I’m pretty happy with a full front on shot this weekend swipe right to see 📸

Sea Hare, don’t care

The common name "sea hare" is a direct translation from Latin: lepus marinus, as the animal's existence was known in Roman times. The name derives from their rounded shape and from the two long rhinophores that project upward from their heads and that somewhat resemble the ears of a hare.
