Just on your bed dressed in jeans with your beautiful bump out.

Natural light from your bedroom window.

Your pregnant body, your home, your real space.

No grassy field. No outfit stress. No traveling.

Just you at home, exactly as you are, in the place where your pregnancy is unfolding. And if you have a backyard we can step out there too if you like.

Don't get me wrong I adore golden hour, grassy fields and gorgeous gowns but there's also a place for cosy in-home maternity sessions that are intimate and comfortable. It just depends on your vibe and what you'd like to remember of this season and look back on.

There's often a worry that an in-home newborn session within the first couple of weeks might feel like too much, particularly if you're a first time mum trying to find your rhythm, recovery postpartum is difficult or you have toddlers in the mix.

But when it's a slow experience that's gentle and unhurried - in the safe space where you're already loving, feeding, and cuddling your baby, it becomes a sweet and meaningful celebration of your family's beginning.

Should I book newborn photos early or should I wait? When is the 'perfect' time for having newborn photos?

I often get these questions and there's no right or wrong choice - it comes down to what you want to look back on and remember, as well as what feels right for you and your family.

Here's my breakdown of what each timeframe offers:

Within 2 weeks: This window is for you if your heart is drawn to sleepy, curled up memories. This is ideal for memories of them at their tiniest and of your earliest days together as a family in your newborn bubble when everything is brand new.

1-3 months: They're now more alert and interactive. We'll get more eye contact too. You'll also have extra time to settle in together at home.

Both are equally special, just different. Either way, your photography experience with me will be baby-led and you'll be guided every step of the way ❤️

My boys have just turned 9 and here's what I know: there's no such thing as too many photos of when they needed you like this. You'll only ache for more.

I get the paradox - being exhausted and touched out but still wanting to be witnessed holding them, to be remembered, and part of your family's history.

You can't force a connection with someone's work.

I believe it resonates or it doesn't.

Not every photographer is the right one for you. Before you book anyone (including me!) it's important to ask yourself what memories you actually want to end up with. Dark and moody? Light, bright and airy? Or perhaps it's warm, golden, earthy memories that are more your vibe?

I'm not for everyone. What I do is soft, warm, golden. Earthy and natural. Real moments wrapped in beautiful light. I guide you gently - where to stand, prompts for what you can do, child-led and playful. But I also know when to step back and let the memory unfold naturally, because some of the best moments happen on their own.

My communication is fast and clear because as a mum too, I understand how busy you are. The client wardrobe is available with carefully curated pieces that you'll feel great in and photograph beautifully. I'm always available for styling advice if needed.

If you love perfectly posed, modern editorial vibes, or everyone perfectly staring at the camera - I'm not your person, and that's okay. There are incredible photographers out there who do that. They're just not me.

So before you reach out to anyone, look carefully at their work. Does it give you the feels? Does it match the vision in your head of what you want to look back on in 10, 20 years time? Do their words resonate with you? Does the way they work align with how you want to be photographed?
