Slow down, life is meant to be savoured 😊🌿
Sometimes it can be easy to lose sight of the beauty around us, as we go through the busy motions of our everyday routines
Just remember that your norms could be someone else's dream view! Every so often just stop for a second... immerse yourself in your surroundings and really savour the moment by taking everything in 😊
Just a bit of positivity and a beautiful view to brighten your day! 😁

I know I say this often but I'm pretty sure this is my new favourite photo I've taken! 😁
This is actually a photo that I've already posted a while ago, but I went back to it with new and improved editing techniques to properly represent the emotions of that moment. To put it simply most edits are done on a global scale, meaning that the adjustments affect every aspect of the image. For example increasing saturation will boost every single colour within the photo so this method is very time efficient... but not refined
However recently I've been really focused on doing "local adjustments" so I manually pick particular sections of a photo and apply certain edits to them! This is mainly done through radial masks, graduated filters and brushes so it's kinda like digital painting in a way πŸ€“πŸŽ¨ it takes more time but the final image looks far more dynamic in comparison to a quick edit
So what do you think of the final photo with that beautiful warm glow illuminating the lush moss?! πŸ˜πŸ’š

Who would happily hike in this misty forest? πŸ’š
For me it's an absolute yes because I find this atmosphere just so mesmerising to be in!
The tall twisting trees give this sense of being enclosed in nature while the misty air somehow feels even more fresh and aromatic than usual 🌲
Plus the fact that you feel like you're in some fantasy World is simply... pretty cool!
Also is it just me or does it look like there's a closed fist punching its way out of the ground? βœŠοΈπŸ‘€ I love looking for these type of elements in all of my photos 😁

"Forest bathing" does absolute wonders to your mind 😊🌲
The simple method of being calm and quiet amongst the trees, observing nature around you whilst breathing deeply can help both adults and children de-stress, boost health and wellbeing in a natural way!
It's incredibly easy to do as it just requires you to be present in the moment so you truly absorb your surroundings. Just find a nice spot... sit down.. and breathe 😊 you can close your eyes to focus on the smells and sounds or keep your eyes open to take in all the tiny beautiful details.
Forests can sometimes be visually overwhelming with so much going on (which makes it quite challenging to photograph) but if you just stare in one spot for a while you'll find lots of hidden gems! Like how my friend and I spotted this ancient looking tree with entangling roots growing over a large mossy boulder 😁
So... who goes walking in the forest often? This is a sign for you to get out more and enjoy the benefits of nature πŸ˜πŸ’š

How to create a painterly photo πŸ€“
You'd be surprised that it's really easy to do! It simply revolves around the colour black... Let me explain 😁
When we take a photo using our phone or DSLR, the image will (most of the time) have very deep true blacks! Like we're talking hexadecimal 000000 or the absence of light type of black which creates that very "digital" look and we don't want that
When using Lightroom we want to increase that black value on the "tone curve" by pulling the bottom point up by around 10% so that true black now becomes more of a charcoal colour. Then slightly reduce the "clarity" to about - 30 so the image has a softer glow and a more rustic tone... like a painting! 😁
Such a ridiculously simple tweak but it has a huge effect on the image!
On Instagram editing you can use the "fade" option to increase the black value but sadly there isn't a way to reduce the clarity or sharpness to get the full painterly look. But the fade along with some other tweaks to shadows and contrast still looks pretty good
So I hope you learnt something new! 😁 send me any images you'd like to share or ask questions about this effect and I'll happily help you out 😊

I just realised I never posted this photo.. so here it is! 😁
Just me in my happy place, admiring the beauty of nature and feeling all my worries quickly wash away just like the unbelievably fresh waterfall behind me 🌊
What's your favourite thing about being outdoors? For me it's just the simple feeling of rejuvenation and de-stress while absorbing the elements 😊

Congratulations to for winning my 18x12 inch print give-away!!! 😁
The photo that has been chosen is my "Himalayan Sunrise", which is pretty much one of the best sunrises I've ever witnessed. An absolutely magical morning of starting our 4am hike up to P**n Hill (3,210m) just in time to watch the sun slowly peak over the horizon πŸŒ„
I want to say a massive thank you to everyone that participated because this was incredibly fun to create!! All the positive excitement and anticipation was too awesome so I'm definitely going to be doing more of these in the near future 😊
Thank you again and I wish you all great luck on the next one 😊😊😊

"Stairway to Serenity" is still one of my top 3 favourite photos I've ever taken πŸ˜ŠπŸ’š
I took this photo during my "Capturing the Himalayas" adventure photography trip at the end of 2019 and I love this photo purely for the sensations I felt in that moment!
My group and I woke up before sunrise to capture the morning sun over the mountains at Australian Camp.. then as we were ready to continue our journey to Astam Eco Village, we had to hike through this beautiful forest that was covered in morning fog
All you could hear were hidden birds singing in the trees, feel the fresh cool air on your skin, smell the fertile soil and simply admire the slow magical atmosphere
Just a simple photo but I always feel so calm when I look at it as if I'm standing in that very spot again 😊
So... who would love to spend the morning in this forest? πŸ’šπŸ•
