Where you get ready sets the tone before the day even starts.

Swipe to save these tips for your morning. ➡️

It’s worth choosing somewhere that carries the same feeling as your wedding day itself.

This way your final gallery will feel cohesive from the morning all the way throughout the rest of your day.

A coastal Airbnb for a Palm Beach wedding or an architectural hotel for something in the city.

The light in that room shapes every single getting ready photo, not just the mood of them.

If you have a choice, pick a room with large windows and switch off the overhead lights. Natural light does most of the work for me.

It’s a small thing to think about now but makes a big difference in the photos later.

Reasons why you’ll love a first look.

1. Sharing a first look together is a really beautiful moment to see each other before the ceremony, away from everyone watching you. They’re also a lovely way to make time for yourselves on the wedding day.

2. Helps to calm the nerves. If you feel like you’re going to be really nervous before the ceremony, a first look and spending some time together pre-ceremony is a great way to help you feel calmer.

3. Doing a first look and having some or all of your portraits taken before the ceremony means you get to enjoy more of the cocktail hour with your family and friends.

4. For Winter weddings when the days are shorter, having a first look means we can get your photos done earlier in the day so there’s no pressure of losing the daylight.
