Something a little different, but from the heart.

I was editing away, the sun pouring through my window, and I couldn’t stop thinking about her.

The verge of your life completely changing.
The love that you think you know, but can only imagine.
All of it about to arrive - maybe hours, days, weeks away.

There will be a mark in time.
Before them.
And after them.

I wrote this for my best friend,
but I have a feeling some other beautiful mums might feel it too.

Today I sat with a local barber, as he cut my little Rocco’s hair, speaking about the love for our kids.

Speaking about how much we adored the newborn bubble, how nothing else in the world matters once they arrive.

How we want them to experience the world.
The affirmations we teach them,
To love themselves, to know they can do hard things.

In a moment we are here in the newborn bubble,
And what feels like a millisecond of time goes by,
And big school talks aren’t too far away.

I sent this gallery to mum and she was so grateful we captured baby June at this age, because even the last few weeks have gone by in a flash.

That’s what photographs give you.
A way back to the moment,
That only grows more precious with time.

The final hours of Mother’s Day

And I’ve been sitting here scrolling through years of moments being shared - minis, newborns, families, maternity sessions, all of these images that meant so much more than a photo.

This is why I do what I do.

Because there will be a day when you want to go back. When you’re missing someone. When you just need to remember.
And I feel so privileged to be the person who helps you do that.

One of my families messaged me today. She said:
“I wanted to thank you for the most beautiful photos. I find myself going through them often. I’m just so happy we have this memory.”

That message is everything. Because when you book me, the end result is photos - but what we’re really doing is so much more than that.

We’re creating space for memories.

Happy Mother’s Day to every kind of mum - the ones I’ve had the honour of photographing and the ones I haven’t yet. To the friends who support their mum friends, like their children are their own. To those longing to become mums, those missing their mums, and those who are finding today heavy.

Every year I ask my mums one question before their session.

What are your favourite parts of being a mum?

And this answer hasn’t left my mind.

Because it resonates so heavily with motherhood through my eyes.

The little moments that are everything. Looking for her in a crowd. The extra book at bedtime. The quiet, everyday moments that say I need you without a single word.

It’s the gratitude that while we are living our ordinary days, we get to stop and say - we’re doing it, the thing we always dreamed of.

Even when it feels messy. When you go to bed with mum guilt. When you lose your patience or feel like you should be doing more.

You are their safe place. And I couldn’t think of anything that trumps that.

You’re amazing, mumma. And I see you. 🤍

That’s what I’m here to photograph. Not just what your family looks like - but what it feels like, right now, in this season.

Ahead of the weekend, Happy Mother’s Day to every mum who is someone’s safe place, and sending love to all of the mum’s that have a heavy heart on this day.
