I have no words for this morning

One of my best friends,
Her husband who I grew up with,
Their baby girl here in our arms

I opened the door and it’s like all the versions of her flashed before my eyes,
From teenagers, to wives, to mothers

Watching her hold her baby girl,
A little soul so prayed for, so loved,
A moment I’ll never in my lifetime forget

We spent half the session crying,
Half the session laughing

I want to stay in this feeling of love + gratitude forever

You could wait…

Until life feels a little less chaotic, until they’re a bit older, until you’ve found the perfect dress, or finished all your house projects.

You could keep making excuses.

But what do you have to lose?

Only the features that change every single day. The newborn hair on their tiny shoulders that will soon fade. The way they curl into you like you are their whole world

Because one day, on a quiet rainy Sunday, you’ll notice how much they’ve grown. How the small features changed before your eyes, and you’ll wish you had more photos of right now.

Hazel, their little slice of heaven.

I last captured these guys when baby Hazel was just a hope. And here she was, finally in their arms.

Ended my week in a house full of love, capturing their missing piece. Tears in my eyes listening to this beautiful mum talk about how full her heart feels.

Something a little different, but from the heart.

I was editing away, the sun pouring through my window, and I couldn’t stop thinking about her.

The verge of your life completely changing.
The love that you think you know, but can only imagine.
All of it about to arrive - maybe hours, days, weeks away.

There will be a mark in time.
Before them.
And after them.

I wrote this for my best friend,
but I have a feeling some other beautiful mums might feel it too.
