Help Save Mr Boogieman Bar, Support Jax, Ross & live music!
For decades, Jax has been the beating heart of Melbourne’s live music scene. She’s been there since the '80s, championing local bands, giving countless musicians their first stage, and keeping the spirit of live music alive night after night. For the past 10 years, Mr Boogieman Bar has been her pride and joy—a true haven for original music and community connection.
But now, Jax and Ross needs our help.
The past few years have been brutal. COVID lockdowns hit small venues hard, and Jax & Ross received no financial assistance during that time.
Since then, rising costs of insurance, rent and utilities have pushed them into a corner. Despite everything, they continued to open their doors five nights a week, giving bands a home and punters a place to discover the magic of live music.
Jax isn’t one to ask for help. But right now, to keep Mr Boogieman Bar running through to December 1st and to cover mounting debts and operating costs, she needs her community—the very one she’s supported for so long—to rally around her.
This isn’t just about saving a bar. It’s about keeping alive a grassroots venue where original music thrives, where artists grow, and where the spirit of Melbourne music culture is kept alive every single night.
