Since 2008 baby!

Welcome to my rabbit hole … what can I say after studying graphic design I bought my first MacBook Pro and here they are since. Don’t ask about the 2 bought in 2011 😬 and there was one in there after the 2011 machines that was sold. I am also hoping to sell my last machine but thought it would be fun to make a reel out of the laptop progression before I did.

What can I say Apple, you make a good machine and whilst I’ll always grumble about the cost of them it would be hard to jump ship now. Ya got me.

MY BARBIE WORLD

Getting sentimental with you. Yes, I still have some of my childhood Barbies but I’m saying goodbye to them. My boys were not so interested so I’m passing them to my niece who is turning four.

Lily sent me this message after I shared some previews with them from their newborn session: “These are just beautiful! You made such a peaceful environment this morning! Thank you so so much!”

I know it can feel stressful to invite someone into your home in a time when you are feeling so venerable, adjusting to becoming parents. My aim is always to keep things calm and peaceful with reassurance that we don’t need to rush or worry if your newborn is unsettled.

Every session looks a bit different and I love that! Steph from Steph - Goulburn Photographer had this special lookout location in mind as it is close to a holiday home they regularly stay at. They like to enjoy sunset there so it was a special spot for them!

The energy was high with games and laughs in abundance. This helped to keep their three children engaged in the session and helped us shoot until the sun had set. We were blessed with a lovely sunset after a pretty grey few days prior.

So don’t worry that your children might not sit still (they probably won’t). Don’t worry that they might pull lots of funny faces rather than smile (I love a good silly face). Or don’t worry if they are reserved and take time to warm up (we can go slow and take the time to make them comfortable). I have been taking photos of families now for long enough to know that every session is unique. I let the children lead the show and explore our surroundings and let the story unfold in front of my camera. Because I want to capture you and your family as you are.

Will and Lily’s maternity session was full of variety. We photographed everything from the golden light of the afternoon sun through to the moment the full moon shone brightly overhead.

Lily changed outfits a couple of times, which is a wonderful way to add variety and create a beautifully diverse gallery of images.

What a beautiful evening to celebrate this special chapter! Congratulations mum and dad!
