~ A simple post about something I've not shared before.

Recently, I received the below Certificate of Appreciation in my inbox. The reason I am sharing is because this is the very first certificate I've received, not the first time I've donated or sponsored. Let's not confuse the two.

I was born in Springsure, but I've also spent plenty of time abroad. My husband and I actively chose to raise our family here even though life offered plenty of other opportunities.
This little town & it's community mean alot to us, so giving back has always been a priority, even when it hasn't felt affordable.

Often, our donations seem impossibly small, almost unworthy at times but to us, they're important.

The money, prizes and donations of my skill have far exceeded the income earned from photography, in Springsure this year alone.

Understandably, that's not great business but it certainly makes you appreciate when your contributions are formly recognised.

Nobody who donates expects a Thank You, but they certainly appreciate support so please, If you've ever asked a small business for a contribution, please consider supporting them before looking elsewhere for the same service.

~ It's Formal Season.

My absolute favourite time of the year.

~ I've been known for using the title "Legend" a time or two, but only once have I used the word "Hero".

I'm picturing the look on his face, if he were to know I'd used the word "Hero".

He's probably less than impressed that that's the word I've chosen. A name he would use only in his mind to describe his Mates, but probably never a word he's used for himself. I've always imagined true "Heros" to be like that - humble.

This is the guy I think of every ANZAC day. The guy I think of when I think my day is hard and I need a good reality check.

I've looked to this guy since I was a kid, the full weight of his life impacting me more the older I get. I've wondered what it would be like to document his life, but honestly, I'm scared. What if I get the details wrong, what if I don't get perception right?

As far as facts go, I am an uneducated civilian who won't ever fully understand the weight of the titles he has held. In my mind, this guy will always be ten foot tall & literally bulletproof, sharing snippets across our timber kitchen table that he made, over a rationed peice of chocolate cake.

Some stories will never get told because no amount of words will ever pen the truth with justice....so I leave you with a single photo and your own ability to fill in the blanks.

Victor & Shanee

A huge congratulations to Victor on completing his formal.

From the moment I met Victor, it was obvious what a genuine gentleman he is. Polite, respectful, and incredibly easy to talk to.

Standing by his side was the beautiful Shanee, whose vibrant personality made every moment fun and easy. Together, they made an incredible pair, and it was a pleasure to capture this special milestone for them both.

With the ocean stretching along the East Coast behind them and their formal car overlooking the water, it was the perfect setting to celebrate such an important occasion. One of those afternoons where everything seemed to come together beautifully.

Thank you both for trusting me with these memories and for sharing a small part of your journey with me. It was an absolute pleasure.

Wishing you both all the very best for the future and all the adventures that lie ahead. May this next chapter be filled with opportunity, happiness, and plenty of reasons to smile.

Harry & Blayze

Beside the ocean, celebrating formal.

Formal season always carries a certain kind of excitement. The feeling of closing one chapter and quietly stepping toward the next. It was a pleasure capturing these moments along the coastline, with the sea rolling in behind and adventures up ahead.

A big thank you to Blayze for being by Harry’s side for the second formal weekend in a row. You both made the day feel effortless.

Harry, congratulations on completing your formal. Wishing you all the very best for more milestones ahead, the opportunities waiting around the corner, and everything still to come.

~ One photo of the whole family together is all it takes.

Planting season doesn't slow for anybody. There are tractors needing maintenance, seed to refill, weather to watch & quick dinners eaten on the go. For farming families, life doesn’t neatly pause itself for family photos.

When Diane reached out and explained that all of the boys would be home for only a very small window, we knew we had to make this opportunity work. As children grow older, move away, and life becomes fuller, getting everybody in the one place at the one time can feel nearly impossible.

What made this session even more special was knowing Diane and Adam hadn’t had photographs taken together since the boys were little. Somewhere between raising a family, working long days, and simply keeping up with the pace of it all, the years quietly slip by.

To the Sullivans — thank you for welcoming me in so generously during one of the busiest times of your year. Thank you for embracing the chaos of the season and understanding that these opportunities are rare and worth documenting.
