On the first night of the recent 2026 tour, we were lucky enough to witness aurora sweeping across the horizon beneath the Milky Way. The colour built slowly, then intensified into bands of green and red stretching across the bay.

Maleny is one of the most rewarding landscapes to photograph under the Milky Way. This was captured along the Tasmanian coastline, where still water turns everything into a mirror and the Milky Way rises with a clarity that’s hard to grasp until you see it yourself. Dangar Falls is one of the most atmospheric waterfalls to photograph at night. The mist rises gently from the base, catching the light in delicate layers while the Milky Way curves above the valley. On this particular night the air was cold enough that the water spray drifted only a few metres before settling, creating the perfect balance of clarity and mood.
