A few images from a morning spent with local yellow tailed black cockatoo in NSW.

The call of the yellow tails is my favourite of all bird species.

Local legend “Batty” the melanistic manta ray flips over to check us out while snorkelling off Coral Bay. She is a crowd favourite during the winter months where she is often observed feeding along the coast.
Can you guess how she got her name?

Photographing the Numbat, one of the rarest mammals on earth.
Numbats are an iconic species here in Australia and were almost lost to extinction. As one of only two diurnal marsupials in Australia they were especially susceptible to predation by feral cats and foxes.

Thanks to incredible conservation efforts the numbats are increasing in numbers and being reintroduced into predator free controlled conservation areas in their former home range across the country.
