There’s something so timeless about a clean, plain background. It creates a solid foundation, allowing the focus to fall exactly where it should …on you.

Perfect for headshots, portraits and branding imagery, but this is just the beginning of what a studio space can offer.

As a photographer, I love the versatility of a studio. While I’ll always have a soft spot for natural light, the studio gives me 100% control over every element from the direction and quality of light to shadows, mood and atmosphere.

And that’s where the creativity really begins. The possibilities are endless when you can shape the light, experiment with different setups and create something entirely your own.

Clean and simple doesn’t mean limited. Sometimes, it’s the perfect blank canvas. ✨

These stunning moments are the test shots I captured of Alicia Van Schoonhoven in the lead up to our ‘CAMERA CONFIDENCE’ workshop this SATURDAY 🎉 simple, basic and focused on capturing who you are, with some amazing posing guidance and coaching from Alicia at Inner Queen Confidence who has flown across the country for this event ✈️

When we don’t like a photo of ourselves, how often do we blame our appearance before questioning the lighting, the direction we’ve been given, or whether we even felt comfortable in front of the camera?

We think we look awkward.
We decide we don’t know how to pose.
We question our confidence.

But what if we’ve been judging ourselves without ever giving ourselves the chance to experience being photographed differently?

It’s funny how we assume people are the “professional version” of themselves in every area of their life just because it’s what they do for work.

After 14 years as a photographer, I’m not just a photographer…. Im someone who has the best seat in the house ✨

I get a front row seat to people doing things that matter to them and honestly, I think it’s made me a better human being 🫶🏼

People starting businesses because they want to make a difference, create a better life for their family or do things differently.

People stepping on stage for a fitness competition after months of discipline and commitment.

People putting their music out into the world.

People entering pageants, launching brands, changing careers, creating something completely new or simply wanting to see themselves in a way they haven’t before.

And I get to photograph all of it.

The ambition. The discipline. The creativity. The vulnerability. The excitement. The reinvention. The little moments that make up a much bigger story.

CAMERA CONFIDENCE is a workshop Alicia Van Schoonhoven from Inner Queen Confidence and I are hosting on OCTOBER 17th! And it’s something I’m proud to be creating along side another create who is passionate about empowering women and creating safe spaces.

C+C is about creating, but this workshop is completely open to anyone why is curious to set aside some time for themselves, explore ways to be more comfortable in front of the camera AND also get updated professional photos in the process!

As a photographer, I started out wanting to create and express my own ideas, but after over 14 yrs in the industry I realised it was never about me, but rather the people around me and what they need.

I want women to stop saying they’re not photogenic.

I want women to not be afraid to make time for themselves.

And I think women need more photos of themselves, so they can themselves from an outside perspective.
