Portraiture used to look different, and it's a style I still chase every chance I get. 📸
Not posed. Not "everyone say cheese." Instead, it's about catching someone in the middle of their work, in their own kitchen, doing the thing they actually do. That old-school, journalistic approach, where the space around them tells as much of the story as the face does.
22 years into this craft, and it's still the work that lights me up most: photographing chefs and food teams exactly where they belong. A hand plating the final garnish. Steam rising off the pass. A moment of total focus mid-service. No forced smiles, just the real thing, unfiltered.
This is portraiture built for hospitality and food businesses. Something with grit and character, images that actually feel like your kitchen rather than a generic stock shot standing in for it.
Want portraits of your chefs or your food manufacturing team that feel authentic rather than staged? Whether it's for your website, your socials, or press coverage, I'd love to help. Based in the Gold Coast/Tweed/Byron region and booking sessions now.
Oh, and a big thank you to my client Adam, from Johnny Franco's restaurant in , for being an absolute gem to work with.
