Shellharbour City Cricket Club Men's 1st Grade team grabbed the W against the Kiama Cricket Club today at Cavalier Park, Kiama.

Tight bowling and a flurry of wickets saw Kiama bowled out leaving Shellharbour chasing 126 for victory.

Mission Accomplished!

Spring's sprung, so I'm swapping the footy fields for the pool as I head along to the Oak Flats 60th Anniversary Swim Meet to capture the action, the emotion and the moments that'll make this event special.

Two early images I’m considering for the 2027 Women in Sports Photo Action Awards.

Unlike the way women are so often portrayed in society, these awards are about showing women as they really are in sport — competing, challenging themselves, showing determination and pushing through whatever is in front of them.

No filters.
No posing.
No staged moments.
And no athlete knowing the image has been captured until after the event, when I’m working through the images during the editing process.

Both of these photographs were captured during the Shellharbour Sharks RLFC v Milton-Ulladulla Bulldogs RLFC Open Women Tackle — Group 7 Senior Rugby League match earlier this year.

For me, they capture something far more powerful than a posed sporting portrait. They capture raw intention, concentration, determination and the willingness to push through the challenge in front of them. This is how I believe women in sport deserve to be photographed — authentically, powerfully and in the moment.

Two images. Two athletes. Two moments of competition.

And perhaps, two early contenders for 2027.

Group 7 Senior Rugby League Grand Finals are on this Saturday at Centenary Field, Albion Park.

I was lucky enough to photograph 7 of the 8 Grand Final Teams during the regular season (Sorry APOF Eagles 1st Grade, never made it to one of your games this season).

Good luck to all clubs.

From the warm up to the full-time whistle, these Shellharbour Sharks showed plenty of bite. In hot, dry and very dusty conditions they overcame a determined Milton Ulladulla Bulldogs.

Next week, they'll face the powerful Stingrays in the Group 7 Senior Rugby League Open Women's 9s Tackle Grand Final.

Enjoy today's win, thanks for having me Shellharbour Sharks RLFC Milton-Ulladulla Bulldogs RLFC

I don't have a favourite team, but here's wishing GOOD LUCK to my two local Group 7 Senior Rugby League clubs this weekend in the Group 7 Preliminary Finals on Saturday.

Play gets underway with the Shellharbour Sharks RLFC Open Women's Tackle playing against the Milton-Ulladulla Bulldogs RLFC, this match is followed by the Shellharbour Sharks RLFC Men's Under 18s playing against the Berry Shoalhaven Heads Magpies RLFC. Reserve Grade and First Grade is an almighty showdown between the powerful Albion Park Oak Flats Rugby League Football club and Stingrays RLFC Shellharbour Clubs.

What a SUPER SATURDAY of action, the four winners go through to the Grand Final on Saturday 26th September, the losers, well the 2026 season is over.

Good Luck everyone, leave nothing out there.

Apologies to the U18s for the lack of any images, I haven't covered any of your games this year. Maybe tomorrow!!!
