While I can't be there to photograph their efforts this weekend, I can cheer at home for our Paddle Australia Paddlers. Commencing tonight (Australian time) racing will continue on Saturday and Sunday at the 2026 ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup 3 in Augsburg Germany.

Good luck to all the Aussie Athletes, go hard.

These images aren’t about perfection. They aren’t about perfect smiles, flawless makeup, staged moments or beautiful lighting. They’re about women in sport exactly as they are; Raw emotion, Intensity, Determination, Pain, Joy, Exhaustion & Passion.

Sometimes the light is harsh. Sometimes the moment is messy. Sometimes the image isn’t technically “perfect” — and that’s the point. Sport isn’t polished, it’s real. These photographs are about capturing the honesty of competition and the strength of women who give everything to the game, the moment and themselves. Because the most powerful images are rarely perfect, they’re authentic.

The Annual Women in Sport Photo Action Awards represent a widespread collection of images of Women captured across many sports. Here are some of mine taken during the last six months.

10 Days post operation and I'm back in my happy place, home and Cowries. Three to four months of some intense rehabilitation and the new left knee will be as good as my newish right knee. Thanks Dr Bhimani and the medical team at Wollongong Private and Shellharbour Private Hospitals.

10 years ago, I had the chance to photograph some incredible Ironman and Ironwomen competing in the 2017 Western Sydney 70.3 Ironman Championships at the Sydney International Regatta Centre in Penrith.

It’s amazing to look back and realise how much has changed since then. The event has grown into something even bigger and stronger in 2026, with so many great athletes racing, winning, overcoming challenges, and helping shape it into one of Penrith’s premier sporting events.

PS: I’ve also included a shot from the 2017 Nepean Triathlon of one of this year’s Pro Men. It’s awesome to see local talent develop over the past decade—he’s definitely one to watch in 2026.
