Another shot from yesterday afternoon’s adventure. I could have easily spent hours here. It’s only a small area, but the surrounding trees and ferns provided a fantastic array of options for compositions.

A very productive afternoon exploring a location that I have never previously visited on the way up to Cradle Mountain. There were some beautiful pockets of sunshine streaming through the canopy that really added an extra dimension to the scene.

Beautiful clear skies over Lake Bonney in South Australia

There wasn’t a breath of wind on the night that I captured this shot. I was standing knee deep in the water and felt like I was surrounded by stars. You could see them in the sky and also their reflections in the water.

This panorama is made up of 7 separate exposures joined together to capture the full arch of the Milky Way.

I definitely did not wear warm enough clothes on this particular night. It was absolutely freezing up at Pine Lake from the wind. I shot this not long after we moved to Tasmania and it was the catalyst in helping me decide to buy a pair of OTEX Australia photography gloves. My hands had never been so cold in my life 🥶

Snow really changes how you look at a landscape. I have walked through this section of the trail around Dove Lake so many times, but I have never felt compelled to capture an image here until this particular day.
