~~ A bit of history ~~
Every time I go back to Europe now, I am more and more in AWE with all the architecture and history this continent has.
For some reason when you grow up in one place and live there most of your life, you take things for granted and don't realise how much history and culture is behind all of your surroundings.
I grew up in France but I've been living in Australia for 9 years now and each trip back to Europe is so rich in culture, monuments, people, spirit, food (oh the food!!). So this year I wanted to bring photos back to Oz that breathes that richness.
When planning this photoshoot with Gari Zoher Lusitano Stud, we wanted to go to a special place in order to capture something different.
The location we picked is a Roman aqueduct and mill built in the 2nd century (makes you feel small doesn't it?!). There are only a few arches left almost intact, the others are either half buried underground or have collapsed but we were lucky enough to fit some of Gari's talented horses under a couple of those beautiful arches.
It was a magical place and if you like, one day soon I will post some photos of where the mill used to be, just an other extraordinary place, opening to the valley, where the horses just fit in there so beautifully.
