It's been a very long time since I've attempted to catch birds in flight but I think I did rather well with these Australasian Shoveler's.

Wow. It has just been a 'little' while since I posted here!

Went out to the Jerrabomberra Wetlands today. Had this little Black-Fronted Dotterel walking back and forth in front of me chasing down insects for breakfast.

Went for a walk with my wife today to Booroomba Rocks located within the Namadgi National Park, ACT. What can I say? It was worth it and it reminded me of how much I need to work on my fitness!

Out again with camera last night to get some more Astrophotography of the Milky Way as the weather forecast for the next couple of days isn't meant to be the best.

Unfortunately, some high level, thin cloud did came across the sky in the top right hand corner which explains why the stars there are not perfect and there is a little at the bottom as well but overall, I'm very pleased with the end product.

This is the result of 45 Light Frames (45 images @ 20 seconds per exposure) and 15 Dark Frames (for noise removal), stacked, aligned and then finished in Photoshop.

Enjoy!

A somewhat better edit of last nights efforts with some astrophotography over Jarvis Bay. Still not perfect but it's 32 Light Images and 16 Dark Images (to reduce noise) stacked to bring out all the goodness of the Milky Way as it rises over the ocean to the east of Huskisson. There is a little streaking of the stars in the corners as no lens correction was (or could have been) applied.

Hopefully, Facebook want stuff up the image quality. If it does, I'll put it onto Flickr and link it here.
