Sometimes photos don’t get shared straight away.

I realised I hadn’t posted anything this week, so I went back through last year’s photos and found these from sunset at Lake Cargelligo.

I’d almost forgotten how still the evening was. The water barely moved, the sky slowly turned pink, and a small flock of Australian White Ibis (Bin Chickens) crossed the last light just before dusk.

A good reminder that some favourites are simply waiting to be rediscovered. 🌅

Three years ago, an early morning at Norah Head looked like this. 🌅

These were all taken on my iPhone—before the R5 and the long lenses—when the reflections, dramatic clouds and changing light were more than enough to keep me wandering around with my camera out.

It’s funny what you rediscover when you go back through the camera roll.

Something a little different—but apparently I still found a way to photograph birds. Or at least, where the birds used to be. 🐦

Looking up beneath Forgotten Songs in Sydney’s Angel Place, where empty cages hang between the buildings and the calls of birds once heard in central Sydney filter through the laneway.

A beautiful reminder that sometimes the most interesting view is directly above you.

Turns out the toothpaste didn’t work after all… 🪥😂

This yawn revealed something I wasn’t expecting… a surprisingly impressive set of teeth.

Long-tailed macaques are omnivores, eating everything from fruit and seeds to insects and small animals. Those long canine teeth play an important role in feeding, but they’re also used to communicate dominance and can be a serious warning to rivals.

Thankfully, this one was just stretching after a snack… not sending me a message.
