We went to Italy for a party.

Not just any party, but a celebration for a very dear friend in the heart of Tuscany.

The setting was Castellina in Chianti, a beautiful medieval hilltop village surrounded by vineyards and rolling countryside. For us, it was a pretty special place to visit because it’s the home of Sangiovese — and if you know anything about our winery, you’ll know that’s RJ’s favourite grape variety.

The party itself was held at the stunning Villa Siepi, where a fabulous group of people gathered to celebrate Nicole. It was one of those picture-perfect Tuscan days that almost doesn’t seem real when you look back at the photos.

A long lunch in the countryside, tables laden with wine, beautiful food, music drifting through the garden, stories shared between old friends and new, and plenty of laughter. Nicole decided a band might be a good idea — and thankfully (although she did have her doubts as they serenaded her!) she was right.

A special shout out to her sister Monique, who pulled so much of it together and proved herself to be an exceptional party planner.

Mostly though, I’m grateful. Grateful to have been there, grateful for the people, and grateful for the memories.

A beautiful day in Tuscany. Great friends. Great food. Great wine.

And a reminder that sometimes the best reason to travel is simply to celebrate the people you love.

Still pinching myself when I look back at these photographs.

Thanks for having us, Nicole. What a party.

How wonderful to see Erica, Matt and Grace featured in Outback Magazine — and so beautifully written by Sue Wallace.

Just thrilled for you both. What a special story to have shared in the pages of such an iconic publication.

A big thank you to Elizabeth Costello from Tourism North East for sending this through, and to RM Williams Outback Magazine for shining a light on this beautiful part of the world and the people who make it so special.

Congratulations Erica, Matt and Grace — such a gorgeous feature and so well deserved. ❤️

Reminder….
Out of office until June 1 🍊🇮🇹

Currently somewhere in Italy pretending an Aperol Spritz counts as hydration while “researching” food, wine, light and life for future creative inspiration… purely professional obviously.

In the meantime if you are interested to see what chaos, good decisions and wine adventures are unfolding over here pop over to for the updates 👀🍷

Reply times may be slightly delayed due to excessive wine/pasta/spritz consumption and limited self control around gelati.

Ciao for now x

There’s something pretty special about photographing another creative — especially one who’s just as handy behind the camera as she is in the garden!

Nicola from invited me along to document her at work, creating the most beautiful, whimsical wedding florals out in Stanley, and I honestly haven’t stopped thinking about it since. The way she uses colour, texture and movement… it’s thoughtful, it’s joyful, and it feels so her.

I’ll always love a classic green and white, but give me personality, colour and a little bit of wild whimsy any day of the week. Maybe it’s a controversial take… but I do think we’ve been lulled into a bit of a beige existence. And Nicola? She’s out here quietly bringing colour back.

And here’s the thing — your wedding flowers end up in almost every frame of your day. So make them fun. Make them meaningful. Make them you… not just what Pinterest tells you they should be.

Nicola started Buraja Blooms in 2023, growing her own flowers alongside her husband Doug on their rural property near Corowa. Every stem is considered, seasonal, and locally grown — which makes her work even more special.

I know what it feels like to be at the beginning of something big, with a whole lot of heart behind it… and Nicola, you’ve got that in spades. You’re clever, grounded, and incredibly talented — I can’t wait to watch this grow.

More to come,

There’s always that moment before everything begins… and sometimes it’s not calm at all.

This was Jessica, seconds before walking down the aisle — people moving, voices everywhere, final touches, excitement, emotions and that beautiful kind of chaos. And in the middle of it all, she just wanted to get down there and marry her person.

I had about 10 seconds. A sliver of light. And a feeling I couldn’t ignore.

So I asked her to pause… just for a breath….. and step into the light….

And there it was.

Quiet. Calm. Her.

Moments like this don’t wait around. You have to see them, trust them, and sometimes gently step in — even when everything feels a bit rushed — because once they’re gone, they’re gone.

I would’ve been so disappointed to miss this.

It’s not about staging something that isn’t real. It’s about knowing when to lean in, when to hold back, and how to find the story that’s already unfolding.

That’s the difference.

Not just photographing a wedding — but seeing you inside it.

Your story. Your energy. Your moments.

Exactly as they felt.

This might be ‘old’ work… but it still feels exactly the same to me.

Because for me, it’s never just about what’s in front of the camera.

It’s about the feeling in a space.

The mood.

The way everything comes together when the right people are involved.

We walked into an empty venue and saw the potential — the layers, the light, the way it could all unfold.

And when you’re working with people who bring skill, not ego…who care about how it feels, not just how it looks… it just flows.

That’s always been the difference.

I’ll never be drawn to work that feels rushed or put together just for the sake of it.

The work that lasts — the work that means something — always comes from intention, collaboration, generosity of spirit and a bit of trust in the process.

And honestly… that’s still exactly where I want to be 🤍

Some days just feel like they were always meant to be.

After a winding road to get here, Jessica & James found their place at Henley’s — and everything fell into place. The weather softened, the light showed up, and the day unfolded in the most beautiful, effortless way.

There was so much joy in this day. The kind you can feel — the anticipation, in the walk down the aisle, in the way they looked at each other, in every hug, every laugh, every moment shared with the people who love them most.

Because at the heart of it all, this is what it was about — two people building a life together, full of love, excitement, and everything still to come.

Two hearts, making a home 🤍

A small glimpse into it all, as they head off on their Highland honeymoon ✨

Last night at The Victoria 🍸

Working towards a more editorial direction — creating imagery that’s considered, intentional, a little bit edgy and built to last.

The best work comes from clarity:
a strong brief, a shared vision, and time to refine the details.

Long-term collaborations make this possible.

I’ll drink to that.

Some weddings feel less like a production… and more like a gathering of people who really matter 🤍

Jess & Pat’s day at The Plough Inn was intimate, thoughtful, and full of feeling.
A thoughtful guest list, familiar faces, and the kind of energy that lets everything unfold naturally.

The longer I photograph weddings, the more I’m drawn to celebrations like this —
where it’s less about perfect timelines or big moments…
and more about the people you’re sharing it with.

There’s something really special about reliving a day like this while it still feels close —
Jess & Pat received their gallery just weeks after their day, while all those little moments are still fresh.

If you’re planning something relaxed, meaningful, and centred around your people —
I’d love to photograph it.

Jess & Pat’s wedding gallery is almost ready.

A day that felt joyful, unrushed and completely centered around their people.
The kind of wedding that felt simple in the best and most beautiful way. The kind of wedding that slowly unfurls….
I can’t wait for them to relive it all while the memories are still fresh.
