Floral Friday – Playing around with some water lilies

These are from my last visit the Blue Lotus Water Gardens in December last year. I kept forgetting I had them, so I thought I would process some of them in ON1 Photo RAW and see what I could do with them. Here they are.

Driving into the abyss of a city with lots of skyscrapers

I have a fascination with car parks. No idea why, but if I walk past one, I will want to photograph it. Some images work better than others. I like this one. At first I thought it was a lane, but when I had a closer look, I could see it was a driveway to a car park. I really liked all the skyscrapers around it....

Monochrome Madness – The World of W for Black and White Profusion

Another month and another Black and White Profusion challenge. This one was the World of W. We had to find things starting with W. At first I thought this was going to be hard, but I just started looking for images that I had that might show things that start with that letter. I made a list, but then I started going through here looking for images....

Reposting – Weekend Wanderings, The Details of Melbourne

This is from a day I spent in the city back in 2013. I still remember the day vividly, and it was a great day. I had so much fun getting all these images. Let's see if anyone remembers them. On Friday, I spent a very intensive day teaching a client how to use her camera and how to take photos. ...

Taking a look back to 10 years ago and some photos from Minyip

I thought it might be fun to look at some photos I took 10 years ago and processed. These were taken in a small town called Minyip. I was travelling through the town with a friend, my friend Chris, who I go out and take photos with all the time. I had taken her up to my mum's place, and we came back a different way, stopping in Minyip....

Floral Friday – Things that are flowering in the garden now

It is surprising that we are still in winter, but there are flowers out in the garden. I don't know if it's because the garden is confused, or it hasn't been as cold as I thought it was. I just don't know. Could be that some things just flower all year round. August can be a strange month. I remember the year my youngest daughter was born, we were wearing shorts and t-shirts in August, but this year we are still rugging up....

Checking out some of the places you can find Ernie around Melbourne

"Ernie is the signature 'stoner art' emu who pops up in murals across Melbourne suburbs like Fitzroy and inner-city laneways, as well as international spots like London." (Google) He has been made famous by the artist John Murray, who signs off as and it is not hard to find this emu around Melbourne. I think he is a great character and I took photos of him every time I saw him, though I would love to find him in other places....

Monochrome Madness #67 – Horizons

Dawn from The Day After is our host this week, and her theme is HORIZONS. I must admit that nearly every landscape photo I take has a horizon in it, but is it the star in each one? I've been going through my photos looking for images where the horizon is absolutely there in the image, or at least applied....
