The Rollercoaster That Is Baseball ⚾️

Baseball has a way of testing you like few other sports.

In a single game it can humble you, frustrate you, challenge your mindset… and then give you a moment that reminds you exactly why you love it.

Today was one of those games.

Taylor would probably tell you himself that his day in the field wasn’t his best. A couple of errors that he’ll no doubt replay in his head tonight.

But as his mum I always look for what went right.

For six innings I could hear him constantly backing his teammates, cheering every play, encouraging the guys around him and staying engaged in the game even when I know he would have been frustrated with himself.

And then baseball did what baseball does.

Bottom of the 6th… he put one over the fence.

Just like that, the same game that had been testing him all afternoon also gave him a moment of pure joy.

He finished the day with 4 RBIs — his most in a single game this season.

That’s the game of baseball.

It can knock you down and lift you up all in the same afternoon.

There’s a pretty good life lesson in there too.

You’re not defined by your mistakes.
You’re defined by how you respond to them.

Keep showing up. Keep backing your teammates. Keep taking the next swing.

That’s the game. ❤️🖤⚾️
