Black faced cuckoo shrike, mmm … what is he escaping from?
This multi layered photo printed in a multilayered photogravure was initiated in a workshop we did with Kristen encouraged us to go beyond the simple print and I took this idea home and finally came up with this. Took many experiments for it to finally work.
If you are in Miles QLD, you can come and see this and many more nature inspired artworks at our small group exhibition, Nature + Art, art gallery and opens on Friday night 29th May, and runs until July.

Getting ready for our next small group exhibition at Dogwood Crossing Gallery in Miles QLD, opening 29th May 2026 through to mid July. Joining the group exhibition are talented fellow artists

This Brolga is in a series of three prints of our local Brolgas. We hear them most mornings honking their way across the paddocks to the neighbours ponds for a feed and a browse.
These clips show me doing the final polish of the photogravure plate before it goes under the press, to the final reveal.

We renamed the property we purchased a few years ago, from ‘Itledo’ (how do you pronounce THAT…?) to Two Emus. Why is that, you ask. Easy really, on regular occasions we have two, yes correct, two, emus wandering through the paddocks as if they own the place. Today they were close to the house and were not at all worried about me walking up to them for a chat. When they started to walk away, I called out to them and they turned around to see what the ruckus was, and promptly started waking back towards me. Such amazing curious coats of arms they are.
