IT FINALLY HAPPENED.
After many years of shooting Rugby i finally was knocked over today in the fall out of this tackle.
Since ive started shooting rugby theres been many near misses almost hits almost trips and plenty of fights ive been right beside.
As anyone who knows me would know i cant do anything gracefully
I protected the camera at all costs and straight back into shooting the game.

Batteries Charged, SD cards clear, lenses clean, camera tested, mono pod checked and fixed, camera raincoat ready, camera bag packed.

Hopefully today I’ve not forgotten anything.

Yet another round of Rugby done and dusted. Yesterday was a rollercoaster, hot-cold-raining-warm-sunny-freezing.

Heading to Boyd tonight to shoot Unis social 4s.
Oh how that field and I have a love hate relationship.
It’s the worst field for night games which I hate.
Yet it’s where I started my journey of sports photography.
First only following my brother and his under 15s team.
Then the old committee of Medowie Rugby took a chance and let me be their Photographer. What a wild time that was. My Dad, Dwayne & Darren where such pivotal people in my journey as a sports photographer.
I stepped up my game from just shooting my brother & the rest is history.

While my brother is older, I still know zero of the rules, my skills have improved, my equipment is upgraded. I still get to annoy my brother and get those ripper shots.

In honour of heading back to Boyd here’s an oldie but a goodie.

A massive 5 games of rugby shot over this weekend.
Thank god for preschool days. Much like many players charging towards the try line, im charging towards my own finish line.
Just the first Grade game left to go.
