If this is what heaven looks like... take me early.

If this is what heaven looks like, take me early.

Standing on top of Greenly Hill, watching the sun disappear over the ocean, it's hard not to sit back and think about how lucky we are to experience places like this.

The older I get, the more I realise life isn't about waiting for the perfect time.

It's not about waiting for retirement.
It's not about waiting until next year.
It's not about waiting until everything lines up perfectly.

Because the truth is, that day might never come.

If there's somewhere you've always wanted to visit, go.
If there's something you've always wanted to do, start.

You only get one crack at this thing called life.

For me, moments like this are what it's all about. Watching a sunset over a place like Greenly Beach, completely present, with nowhere else I'd rather be.

Whatever happiness looks like to you, go and chase it.

Because one day you'll wish you started sooner.

If you do one thing at Greenly Beach, make it this.

If you visit Greenly Beach, do yourself a favour and hike up Greenly Hill for sunset.

The walk itself is relatively easy, but the reward at the top is something special.

From up here, you can see the entire coastline stretching away in both directions. You can look down at the campsite where you spent the night, the beach where you had your morning swim, and the waters where you've spent the day chasing fish.

It's one of those rare viewpoints that gives you a completely different appreciation for a place.

Standing on top of Greenly Hill as the sun drops towards the horizon, you realise just how wild and untouched this part of the Eyre Peninsula really is.

I've visited a lot of beautiful places around South Australia, but this is one sunset I'd happily come back for again and again.

If Greenly Beach is already on your itinerary, make sure you leave enough time to do this walk.

Trust me, it's worth it.

Middle of winter and this is how I'm starting the day...

Middle of winter.

Cold morning.

And somehow I've convinced myself that jumping into a crystal-clear rock pool is the perfect way to start the day.

But honestly, when the water looks like this, it's pretty hard to resist.

One of the things I love about Greenly Beach is that you don't need to go searching for adventure. It's right there at your doorstep.

This rock pool is only a short walk from camp and is filled with reef fish, starfish and some of the clearest water you'll find anywhere on the Eyre Peninsula.

Most people think of camping as sitting around a fire and having a few drinks.

For me, it's mornings like this.

A quiet swim.
No crowds.
No noise.
Just nature doing its thing.

Not a bad way to start a winter's day.

100m from camp and this happened... 🎣

There's something pretty special about rolling out of bed, grabbing a rod and walking a couple of minutes down the beach.

No boat.
No crowds.
No rush.

Just a beautiful morning at Greenly Beach and a salmon that nearly became my personal best.

This fish would have been pushing close to the 5kg mark and on light gear it put up an incredible fight.

The best part?

I was fishing less than 100 metres from my campsite.

It's mornings like this that remind me why I love travelling around South Australia. One minute you're having your morning coffee, the next you're hooked up to the fish of the trip.

Not a bad way to start the day.

If you're camping at Greenly Beach, THIS is the site you want.

If you're planning a trip to Greenly Beach, do yourself a favour and try to get Site 10 at Greenly Beach South.

After exploring the campground, this was easily my favourite spot.

For just $15 a night, you're camping right above one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline on the Eyre Peninsula, with easy access to the beach, fishing, rock pools and the hike up Greenly Hill.

What I love most is that almost anyone can get here. Whether you're travelling in a 2WD, caravan, campervan or a larger rig, access is straightforward and the campground is well set up.

On a calm day, sitting here and looking out over the water feels like you've stumbled across one of South Australia's best-kept secrets.

I've travelled a lot of the Eyre Peninsula, and this is one campsite I'd happily return to again and again.

If you're planning an Eyre Peninsula road trip, save this one for later.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... Greenly Beach is the best beach I've visited in South Australia.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...

Greenly Beach is the best beach I've visited in South Australia.

I've travelled all over this state, and very few places offer as much as this little corner of the Eyre Peninsula.

You can spend the morning fishing from the rocks, cool off in the crystal-clear water or snorkel around the coastline, then finish the day hiking up Greenly Hill and watching the sun disappear into the ocean.

The camping is right on the beach and costs just $15 a night, which honestly feels like a bargain when you wake up to views like this.

What I love most about Greenly Beach is that it doesn't just do one thing well. Some places are good for camping. Some are good for fishing. Some are good for hiking.

Greenly somehow manages to do all of them.

If you're planning an Eyre Peninsula road trip, this is one place I genuinely believe deserves a spot on your itinerary.

Save this one for later. You'll thank yourself when you're sitting here watching the sunset.

This is the BEST location on the Eyre Peninsula.

If I could only recommend one place on the Eyre Peninsula, it would be Greenly Beach.

It honestly has everything you could want in a coastal camping destination.

📍 Beachfront camping for just $15 per night
📍 Incredible beach and rock fishing
📍 Crystal-clear water and natural rock pools
📍 The hike up Greenly Hill for sunset views over the coastline
📍 Easy access for campers, caravans and road trippers

One of the things I love most about Greenly is that you can spend multiple days here and never feel bored.

Start the morning fishing.
Spend the middle of the day exploring the coastline and swimming in the rock pools.
Then finish the day with a sunset hike overlooking one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in South Australia.

It's also only a short drive from Coffin Bay, Port Lincoln, and many of the other incredible locations that make the lower Eyre Peninsula so special.

Greenly Beach genuinely ticks every box.

This might be the ultimate free camp on the Eyre Peninsula…

This is home for tonight.

📍 Horrocks Lookout, Eyre Peninsula

So many people recommended this free camp to me… and honestly, now I completely understand why.

It’s tucked away out of the harsh south-west wind, has unreal ocean views right from camp, and sits in the perfect location to explore this stretch of the Eyre Peninsula.

Around here you can:

go fishing
surf nearby beaches
explore rugged coastline
sightsee along the cliffs
or just sit back and watch sunset over the ocean

And that sunset…

Massive cliffs, waves rolling in below camp, and one of those views that makes you stop and appreciate where you are.

It’s simple.
Remote.
Peaceful.

Exactly what a good road trip stop should feel like.

Moments I will never forget…

Moments like this are why I travel.

A massive pod of dolphins playing in the waves on the Eyre Peninsula… and somehow I got to witness it from above.

Honestly one of the coolest things I’ve ever filmed.

Nature is unreal sometimes.
