Hey everyone,
I wanted to give you all an update about Amegilla Studios and what the next chapter will look like.
Unfortunately, the owner of the building has decided not to renew the lease for the studio space. While this is obviously a big change, it is not the end of Amegilla Studios — just a transition into something new.
What this means moving forward:
- Beginner Class
The beginner class won’t run in Term 3. However, I’m currently working through options for Term 4 and beyond, and I’m hopeful we’ll have something exciting to announce later in the year.
- Critique Class
Critique nights will continue to run. I’m currently working through the best setup for these moving forward.
- Workshops
Workshops will continue as normal. If a workshop requires an indoor learning space, it will either run through collaborative spaces and businesses — much like the Cassegrain Wines workshops. (Imagine an editing workshop with beautiful wine and a yummy grazing board!)
- Overnight tours with Indulgence Tours & Travel that will venture to photogenic places around the mid north coast
- Wildlife Composition Masterclass
The Wildlife Composition Masterclass will still begin at the end of this term and continue through until the end of the year. The first session will be held in studio, then the course will become a mix of on-location learning, Zoom sessions, in-person learning spaces.
- Saturday Shoots
Saturday shoots will continue to run as usual.
I do ask for a little patience while I work through what this next phase looks like. Over the next two months there will naturally be fewer sessions running while I juggle safari prep, travel, and moving out of the studio space.
There will still be:
✔️ the Cassegrain macro workshop (27th of June...the first Cassegrain workshop was so fun!)
✔️ critique night
✔️ a Saturday shoot or two
✔️ the remainder of the current beginner class
To everyone who has supported the studio space over the past few years — thank you. The studio has been such a special place to teach, create, laugh, and build community around photography.
This isn’t the end of Amegilla Studios, it's simply evolving.
