Chamomile Queen in Perth, Australia

I have been very picky.
I choose the people I spend time with very carefully. I only have so much energy and I want to spend it wisely.
Recently I have had a lot of friends struggling with all this new time they have. Reflecting on all the time they spent on things they took for granted and facing the things they had pushed to the side until they "had enough time".
We need to spend our time with intention. Surround yourself with people who build you up instead of pulling you down. Don't be scared to give people who don't make your happy or give you something back less time.
It's ok to be selfish. You are the most important person in your life and you always will be. People heal and move on. Spend your time on things and people that heal you. Don't f**k around just to give yourself a false sense of self righteousness. You're more precious than that.
How have you been spending your time and energy?

Jules in Fremantle, Western Australia

I think I have adjusted.
When all this isolation s**t went down I fought against it. I desperately wanted my life back. My safe routines. The ticks that tell me I am moving through life, achieving something, becoming something, being worth something.
I think yesterday was the first time I stopped chasing shadows. I have new routines now. Every morning I swim 1km. Every afternoon I run 2.5km. Friday I bake two sourdough loaves. I cook every night and eat it with my friends (those that I can responsibly see).
This is a strange new world we are living in but please don't think of it as failing. You don't have to learn Spanish or that 20 minute guitar solo. You just have to find a rhythm that holds you. There's no pressure. You are the most important person in your life.
What is the most positive new routine you have developed in iso? Are you going to keep it?

2/3rd of 28vibing in Perth, Australia

I am trying to fix myself.
Over the last few months I have been going very hard. Sacrificing sleep and good food for nights out and far too much alcohol.
I am going to use this time to detox and renew my habits. Create a routine in this chaos that allows me to grow.
Eating at home has been good for this and weeks without a cafe has curbed my caffeine intake as well. Now to start yoga 😝
What are some good habits you are cultivating in this time of mediation?

Clay Western in Perth Australia

Suboptimal.

This time feels like being stuck in a Groundhog Dayesce loop. Waking up with no plan and living that over and over can feel nightmarish.
Strangely I have found beautiful moments in the cracks of these dystopian feeling events. My roommates and I went for a 4 hour walk, I called my family who are separated from me by two sealed regional lines and drank three negronis. There is beauty in the small things.
Tomorrow I have resolved to do something scary and new. I'm thankful I have the people around me I do. Most of all I'm thankful for you.
What's one moment of beauty you have experienced recently?

Crazy time in the world at the moment folks. Still doesn't feel real but it certainly is. Half of me is hoping it will blow over and half of me is honestly so scared.

Gather your friends close and support those around who have been roasted by COVID-19.
Arts, Hospitality, Events and so many other industries are getting blasted. If you got some cash then maybe consider buying some records, CDs, merch or something similar instead of toilet paper.
No question today. We already have enough.

TASHI in Fremantle, Australia

After I came back from Europe I realised I actually didn't have that many friends. A lot of my friends were friends by circumstance. We went to the same gym, same bars, played the same video games or even just the same house party's.
Last year I spent the year putting down roots and seeking out people who liked me for all my many failings. This year I'm going to try to put more time into these people.
This year is a year of new horizons, good friends and appreciation.
Do you have a special friend who loves you for the weirdo you are? If you do you might want to let them know you love them ❤️

Wooly Mammoth in Perth, Western Australia

I have been very sick.

Luckily it's just to flu but goddamn it's days like these I miss being a wee pup living at home with my parents. Dad bring me icy poles and mum making soup. I guess for now I'll just have to forge through and make my own soup haha
My friend once told me he couldn't trust or rely on his family. He referred to them as a "group of criminals". My dad overhearing this said on all his wisdom "sounds like you need to choose a new family". You can't choose your blood but you can choose your family.
When was the last time you told your family how much you love them?

Hollow Coves in Perth, Australia

I took a bit of a break down south for the last two weeks and I'm feeling recharged.
When I was away from the hustle and bustle of the city I found myself going to bed earlier and earlier. My current bed time is around 9pm and honestly it feels amazing.
Reflecting on why I usually stay up it's almost always habit. Sure sometimes I have work or a gig but mostly I just stay up for fear of "wasting" my night. Sleeps important too and I'm going to see if I can keep this ball rolling.
How's your sleep patterns? Do you find you keeping yourself up for no reason?

San Cisco in Margret River, Western Australia

2020 is going to be my biggest year yet.
I made that decision well before the clock struck 12 and we ticked into the new year. Last year was a putting roots down year. I can just feel this next section of my life is going to be huge.
Some time I get these feelings, I'm sure most people experience something similar, when change is coming. It's similar to that pressure drop before a storm. The feeling of calmness surrounded by a strange electricity running through the air. Every breathe is sharp and in focus. Every sensation on edge yet still comfortable and exciting.
I hope your 2020 is looking hot. If it isn't....well we are only 3 days in so now's the time to start making some changes 👩‍🎤
Do you feel like 2020 is going to be your year? Is that exciting or scary?

Portrait of yours truly by the massive legend

It's that time of year. To settle down and reflect on 2019. Set some goals for 2020 and maybe have a few drinkings to usher in the new year. I know I will 👩‍🎤.

Share your favourite moments from the last year in the comments . xx
2019 has been massive for me. I shot and directed my first music video with the beautiful and talented with choreography by the insane
I shot almost 40 gigs, with over 100 bands plus and booked in my first two weddings for next year. Shout outs to
and many more.
I went out on a limb and finally brought a Ronin S. Best decision ever.
I started my band and we played out first gig. More to come 👩‍🎤
I left my job and next year will be transitioning to full time photography!
Thank you for all your support and love and thank you for listening to my little musings with my photos. I'm so blessed to live where I live, have the people I have in my life and to be able to do what I love.
Can't wait for 2020. 🤘🤘🤘
Love you all xx
Ps. I'll be sharing some of my favourite shots from this year in my story.

Momentum is integral to success.
I have always been someone who finds it hard to make small changes. I like the discipline of making a hard, serious decision and sticking to it. Small changes always seem small and harder to keep.
These big changes however start a ball rolling. And once it starts it is a lot easier to keep rolling.
I think I see this a lot in life too. As though once you make a serious decision and stick to it all those things that tugged at you to pull you off your path are small and insignificant.
Do you have momentum moving towards where you want to go? If not what can you do to start that ball rolling?

Francis Fox//Jamiebvllet in Perth, Australia

Friends are the most important thing in the world to me. Baring of course my family.
Friends are what fill the Inbetween in life. They lift you up when you fall. They are there when your lonely. They are there when you have nothing and they love you just because your are who you are.
Look around you and appreciate those who love you. Reach out and express it. Sometimes even though they already know it people need to hear what they mean to you.
Love you all xx
