We just met in a road house on the moottoritie (freeway) an hour out of Helsinki.
Despite the tantalising aromas - cheddar & jalapeño with a side of cinnamon (but the latter might have been coming from a fellow inmate in the pastry cabinet) - I managed to walk on by because the overwhelming response from my brain was confusion.
What do you think, did i miss a gastronomical chance? Would you have tried one???

Today’s significant border crossing.
Leaving Bosnia & Herzegovina 🇧🇦 & entering Republika Hrvatska (Croatia) 🇭🇷.
Back into the arms of the European Union after a week road tripping through the Balkan states of the former Yugoslavia!
Planning to cross another border into Republika Slovenija (Slovenia) 🇸🇮 later today.
Fingers crossed because there’s a cold front blowing across this part of europe (snowing in the height of summer at the Stelvio Pass between Northern Italy & Switzerland, which is just crazy) & we have encountered heavy rainfall earlier today & we have been stuck in the border crossing queue for an hour…

Whether it is snacking on turkish delight during a whirlwind trip to Paris, prowling the streets of London late at night in search of a flapjack, or a lazy lunch by the sea in Palermo, she is always excellent company & an obligingly photogenic muse.
