Celebrating the Winter Solstice with a little winter arrangement. My favourite midpoint of the year, when you know that longer days will slowly start to appear and the spring flowers are only a few months away.

Hellebores, chocolate lace, cosmos, early narcissus, daphne, daisies, camellia, dried hydrangea, oak leaf hydrangea and roses being the hardy ingredients available to play with right now.

One from Friday, when I made a quick dash to my mum’s place to cut flowers and even managed a few hours to play with them. Definitely needed after a bit of a blah few days. I also spotted this gorgeous depression era vase in the second hand shop in town, of course it insisted on coming home with me. 😬 But looking right at home with these gorgeous apricot roses.
Zinnias, celosia, roses, phlox, dahlias and cosmos all a welcome distraction from the world right now.

Long weekends are for gardening, creative workshops, lots of walks with the dog, movies and flowers! Loving a slightly cooler change this weekend as we say goodbye to summer. This bunch features a distinctly autumn vibe I think, while also celebrating some late summer faves such as roses, hydrangea paniculata, celosia, honesty, strawflowers, thalictrum and clematis.

Love these plummy pinks together, I’m amazed they kept their shape given the overwhelming heat. Happy to see the dahlias thriving in my mum’s garden, if not mine.
