We’re having a blue Sunday today with just4ewes and Helen Coleman. I need help with using up an indigo vat and resist pastes from Sufiyan Ismail Khatri workshop. It is a pleasure to extend our learning from the master block printer and dyer from Ajrakhpur whom The ANJELMS Project had invited to Fremantle. Jean came along with her beautiful homegrown and handspun cotton skeins while Helen experimented with more variations of pastes. Such a productive and inspiring Sunday to be shared with fellow textile lovers ☺️.

Just a very short snippet of my process of how I approach Mundaring Weir in our upcoming exhibition, Weir On A High Place, with Five Tides Collective (FTC) artists at Mundaring Arts Centre.

Officially opens on Saturday 5th September 1-2.30pm (RSVP essential via MAC). Opens to the public 6th September until 8th November.

Only a couple of spots left in my ONE DAY - All Natural Ecoprinting & Dyeing on Thursday 10th September, 9.30am-1.30pm in my private studio.

Discover the joy of natural prints and colours without alum mordants. Chances are you already have the ingredients at home. This workshop is ideal for beginners and experienced dyers alike. All materials are included.

NEW WORKSHOP: Photo Transfer with Encaustic at Midland Junction Arts Centre

As part of my upcoming show, WEIR ON A HIGH PLACE at Mundaring Arts Centre, I will be running a very special workshop for the first time. Since most of my works are encaustic based, it makes sense to share a relevant process that forms part of the show.

You will learn how to make a very simple encaustic medium to transfer your photos (must be laser or toner printed) onto plywood. This is a beginner friendly workshop and all materials are included. Head over to the link in my bio to enrol.

OPENING SAT 5 SEP, 1-2.30pm.

WEIR ON A HIGH PLACE by Five Tides Collective (FTC) After a year of working together, five artists from very diverse backgrounds are ready to present their significant exhibition at Mundaring Arts Centre .

Mundaring Weir takes a central stage in this show with each artist responding to the site in their own way. I am very proud and excited to present a new body of work that speaks fondly about the site that helped me in a journey towards healing.

The exhibition will feature important works by Junko Kitamura Diane Keating Nadia Rasheed and Carolyn White, all who shape the Five Tides Collective in Fremantle.

This project is a dream come true.

Now that the insta sale has concluded I will be uploading the rest of the sale items on my website. Please be patient as it might take a couple of weeks as I’m prioritising my upcoming exhibition.

Take it slow but learn heaps in my 4 week-course All Natural Ecoprint workshop.

This is an expansion of the half day course so you get to dig deeper into the process that we cover each week. In addition, you will learn how to mordant with Symplocos which wasn’t previously offered in the 1 x half day course.

For those interested in natural indigo, I will be organising a standalone workshop approx around end of Sept or early Oct.

Mark your calendar for my first Instagram sale!

I was planning to open my studio for a big sale of my samples and collection that I have moved away from but I didn’t plan on being sick for so long. Hence, the sale will have to move online and there will be quite a few goodies up for grabs if you’re quick enough.
