Or until you’ve lost the baby weight.

Or until you’ve had a shower.

Or until you’ve “got your s**t together”.

You’ve just had a baby. Your house is probably chaotic. You’re probably exhausted. You’re figuring out how to keep a tiny human alive while remembering to eat lunch 🙃

One of the questions I get asked most is:

“When should I book our newborn photos?”

My answer? While you're still pregnant.

You don't need to know exactly when your baby is going to arrive (babies are notoriously bad at sticking to schedules).

When you book, we'll use your due date as a guide and pencil your session in around that.

Once bubs arrives, we'll choose the actual date together, aiming for around 1–3 weeks old.

Why then?

Those first few weeks are often when babies are at their sleepiest, happiest being cuddled and still have that gorgeous fresh-newborn scrunchiness 🥹

BUT there's no magical cut-off at three weeks.

If your baby arrives early, late, has a little stay in hospital, you're recovering, feeding isn't quite going to plan, or life is simply a bit chaotic (because, um, NEWBORN), we work around you.

And if your baby is a little older by the time we get to the session? That's okay too.

We might get more awake moments, stretches and tiny glimpses of their personality, which is just as precious.

So if you're currently pregnant and thinking “I definitely want newborn photos, but I'll sort that out later…” this is your reminder to pop it on the list.

You grow the baby. I'll worry about the photos 🧡
