If you know me well you know that I love Asian (Chinese) food!! Unfortunately, we don't have very many halal options here in Perth. After having lived here for more than 2 years, my husband and I recently came across this place that serves mouthwatering food and what makes it even better is that it's halal!! ๐ Their food is delicious, their portions are a good size and, to top it all, their staff are very welcoming and friendly! I loved their Garlic Prawn, the spicy Korean Fried chicken and the Black Pepper Beef Sauce. Do check it out guys, if you haven't yet!!

Ramadan Insights.
When Non Muslims ask us why we are fasting, most of us simply say "To feel the hunger of the poor." This is actually not entirely true.
There are 2 types of hunger: Mental and Physical. When fasting, we do know we have Iftar to look forward to (these days iftar parties have become such a thing with all the feasting!) whereas for the poor they never know when their next meal will be. We will never know the true hunger of the poor to know what they are actually going through.
The main purpose of fasting is so that we may attain "Taqwa".
Taqwa is an islamic term for being conscious and cognizant of Allah. Its often translates as fear of God. It is a conscious awareness of Allah's presence. Taqwa is the most virtuous characteristic a Muslim can have. As we fast throughout the day, our body urges us to eat and drink. Our heart, however, resists these temptations, out of love and obedience to Allah. By abstaining from food and drink, which is Halal (permissible) and also a necessity for our bodies, we build the strength we need to abstain from the Haraam (forbidden).
You may notice that after the month of Ramadan is over, we tend to hesitate when it comes to drinking or eating anything since we are so used to the fasting. "Oh wait! I can drink, I can eat. I am not fasting". You are more conscious of your actions and behavior. Fasting is therefore an exercise of Taqwa.
Through abstaining from that which is halal and being wary of Haraam during Ramadan, we are able to attain this God consciousness.
