✈️ Training in the Skies Above Jandakot Airport 🇦🇺

A beautiful light aircraft captured soaring beneath the blue Western Australian sky above Jandakot Airport. With registration VH-ZDR clearly visible beneath the wing, this is a classic scene from one of Australia’s most active general aviation environments.

Jandakot is the major general aviation airport in Western Australia and one of Australia’s largest aviation training bases. Around 80% of aircraft movements are related to flying training, making sights like this part of the rhythm of the skies over Perth’s south.

There’s a certain beauty in a small aircraft overhead — the sound of the propeller, an open blue sky and another pilot building the skills that may one day take them into the cockpit of a much larger aircraft. ✈️☁️

From single-engine trainers lined neatly along the tarmac to the twin-engine turboprop moving in the background, this photograph captures the variety and constant activity that makes Jandakot such an interesting place for aviation enthusiasts. Jandakot is WA’s major general aviation airport and one of Australia’s largest aviation training bases, with around 500 aircraft based at the airport.

For many pilots, airports like Jandakot are where the dream first becomes reality — the first lesson, the first solo flight, and eventually, a career among the clouds. ✈️☁️

One of Perth’s most recognisable urban views — the Kwinana Freeway winding its way alongside the beautiful Swan River, with road and rail running together through the heart of the city.

Captured from above, this view brings together so much of what makes Perth special: blue water, green parklands, a busy transport corridor and the relaxed character of Western Australia. The Kwinana Freeway follows the Swan River foreshore through this part of Perth before crossing toward South Perth via the Narrows Bridge.

Even on a busy day, Perth has a way of making the journey look beautiful. 💙
