Photography has been a passion and love of mine for as long as I can remember and I started my business, Julie K Photography, back in 2008 and have never looked back. I am the collector and hoarder of all things sentimental in my family, so when my grandmother passed away a few years ago, she left behind hundreds of family photos to me – a treasure box of images that tells that story of my family
over the generations, which I am so blessed to have. How lucky I am that I now get to create treasure boxes for my clients and friends. I like to think of myself as a visual story teller and prefer a more photojournalistic/ documentary style of photography – something that reveals the heart and soul of a person. I am an animal lover, am crazy mad for all sports, I love to travel, love people and nature and am so grateful for the life I have. I also love to have a good laugh and try not to take life too seriously. I shoot anything from family portraits to events, sport and more and there is not much that I say no to, as I enjoy getting up to something different and exciting every day. Most photographers say to stay away from small children and animals and I say ‘bring it on!’ I love it when things don’t quite always go to plan. I am an accredited member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography {AAIPP} and have won awards at both a state and national level. I have just been named as the 2019 AIPP Western Australian Professional Travel Photographer of the Year and was named as a Finalist in the 2019 AIPP Western Australian Professional Documentary Awards. I have also been awarded my Associates ribbon by the AIPP for receiving five awards at a national level in the Australian Professional Photography Awards. I also had an image shortlisted in the Australian Photography Awards and it went on to win the People’s Choice Award in the Documentary category. If my style of photography fits your style, then I would love to meet you, so feel free to contact me and we can arrange a time for a session. Follow me on Instagram Julie K Photography
