Our Little Book of Yum shoots are underway 🥝. First up is Kaizen, eight months old, who, on his parents' word, will take a crack at every piece of food put in front of him, whether he likes it or not. K is for Kiwifruit was the perfect choice for him, and didn't he love it!

Which is exactly the right attitude for The Little ABC Book of Yum. First-time parents, first proper go at solids, and a boy who treats every meal as a research project ✨

They chose a gorgeous framed family story for the hallway that perfectly captures this special moment in time, along with a donation to the Kids Cancer Project on their behalf, and Kaizen will be featured in our coffee table book. It's a triple win ❤️

Quinn and Geordie are a mother and son pair of Jack Russells, ten and six. When we asked how well they follow commands, their dad said, loosely, they are Jack Russells after all 😝

I love that we not only captured their faces, but their personalities to a T. Georgie jumped higher than seems possible, while Quinn as one might expect from an "older" lady, refrained 🤣 ✨

Clementine is a two year old Golden Retriever who is very good at listening, right up until somebody rustles a paper bag.

Her mum told us about the bag thing beforehand, so we kept every crinkly thing out of the studio to keep her happy.

Kiki and Hamilton came so close we couldn't let them go, so the pair of them are going on the back cover ❤️

Bingo is a blue merle Australian Shepherd, fifteen weeks old, with one blue eye, one brown eye, a bobtail his family call a wiggle butt, and a grey patch on his front leg.

The studio was the perfect choice for his session: fewer distractions and fewer birds for his short and fragile fifteen-week-old attention span.

He is upside down in his last photo, which is secretly how we love a session to go, there is magic in the chaos 😉

Poppy is a one year old blue Great Dane who, according to her mum, runs a highly sophisticated underground sock smuggling operation, hoarding them in secret spots like treasure, with a sideline picking oranges off the tree to use as backyard footballs.

Mum asked us for one thing. A photo where Poppy looks majestic, because at home she is a big goof. Mission accomplished 🐾

We had a ball photographing Perth’s cheekiest, scruffiest, most loveable and gloriously goofy dogs for Dogs Unleashed, and thanks to you we’ve raised over $6,600 for Dogs Behind Bars Rescue.
