A few months after a wedding, once the initial high of seeing every photo for the first time has calmed down, I love going back into a couple’s gallery to see it with fresh eyes.

It’s a completely different experience. You’re no longer looking for the main highlights - instead, you start noticing the raw, unscripted moments happening. The split second moments that somehow feel so much bigger the second time around.

It’s something I started doing with my own wedding photos, and now it’s a little ritual I recommend to everyone - once a year, pour a drink, open your full gallery, and see what you discover this time.

It was raining right before + after this photo

It rained on + off all day, yet we still captured beautiful, warm photos

We popped out in between showers to capture R + M’s portraits

It rained all morning, yet barely a cloud in the sky by the time they wed

Another day that rained on + off all day. Yet look at that sunset!

One of the hardest times is to capture yourself is during moments of vulnerability, but it’s one of the BEST times - it’s when you truly get an opportunity to see yourself.
