No...because...like... what do you mean my family sessions look like this?? 👆

A literal dream 💫 A family who have never done a photoshoot before and yet end up being total pros.

How?

Easy. They were themselves.

They laughed, they cuddled, they ran, they played. I barely had to do a single thing except follow them around and document them Just.As.They.Are. 👏👏

So simple, yet so many find it difficult to do. And I get it. I'm a stranger with a camera in your face. It's not easy to relax. But if I have any advice ahead of your session, it would be to do just that.

Soak in your babes, soak in one another. Use the little time that a session takes to just BE. No distractions.

And I promise you, you'll end the evening with memories that leave you longing for the next one. And I'll be ready to do it all again xx

Ok, why does it feel so awkward posting when I've been so absent and inconsistent??? 🫣

Here's some honesty for you (am I ever anything but??):

I used to be so good at this. Sharing at least 3 or more times per week, showing up, letting you all in, but nowadays... meh.

I don't feel the spark that much with instagram - for biz purposes at least (loving my personal accts algorithm 🤭). And I so badly want to get it back because I have genuinely made some of the best connections here. It's just that I find it so.... draining 😔

I suppose in a way, I've become comfortable. Now that I've been in business for over 5 years (yep, I even let that one slide on by), I have built up a beautiful client base who now mostly fill my cup and workflow, so I guess you could say I am a little complacent 💁‍♀️

I keep saying I'll start tomorrow. Show up. Share more. But tomorrow comes and goes. Maybe this is the re-start. Maybe it's not.

I dunno - if you miss me and want to see more of my cutie clients and my own mug occasionally, maybe hit the good old "heart" button ❤️ And if you don't? All good sis, no hard feelings. It might just make me show up more anyways 😉

I photographed this family in January... and now it's May... WTH 🤯

This was our third session together and our fourth followed shortly after, when their baby girl had entered the world 💕

It's clients like these who make this the easiest and most enjoyable "job" ever.

When Granny says she wants photos with her three kids, their partners and ten grandchildren, you make it happen!

Does the thought of photographing 20 people make me a little nervous? Not gonna lie, yes 😆 But as soon as we arrive on location, everyone meets, the kids get together with their cousins, the men pull out a beer, it all feels like the most natural thing to me.

Like I'm just hanging out with you for an hour or so, watching you muck around, throw insults at one another and simply have a good time.

Trying to rein in 20 people is no easy feat, but maybe that's what makes me and my sessions my own. I don't try and rein you in. I let be, what it will be. If one of the kids is not down for it, that's ok. If one of the dad's doesn't want to be there, that's ok. If the kids are being bribed with too many lollies, that's ok.

It is what it is, but we always end up with the good stuff.
And here's the proof of that xx

Oh hi 👋
I feel like this re-introduction is well overdue, but you know, life is hectic and I was waiting to get updated brand pics done, sooooo...

For those new here, welcome. I'm Angela; wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend and photographer. I low key love summer nights chilling at home, coastal walks and Formula 1 🏁 (not so low key on the F1 😆).

This business was born from wanting to take epic photos of my kids, until I photographed a friends pregnant belly and then the fire was lit. The rest is, as they say, history.

Almost five years on, the fire is still there, but lots has changed in the short time I've been in this business. I have learned to adapt and accept what success truly means and IS to me.

Fortunately, it's not making six figures, it's not hustling hard and marketing myself all day every day.

My success story is making this business work around my life; contributing to my family (namely my kids' extra curricular activities 🫠); and creating art for people like YOU in the form of images - memories you will keep for lifetimes.

If you're looking for fancy video footage, a large instagram following, on trend posing and props.... that's not me. I'm here for the pared back, genuine, candid and simply beautiful moments that happen when you're with the ones you love.

That's where my heart lies ❤️

Because as the years have gone by, I've realised that nothing matters more than cementing life as it unfolds with the ones you love the most. We never quite know what is around the corner.

Ah gosh, I don't even know where to start with the words for this one....

During one of my beautiful clients' newborn session - her nonna came over. And of course she did what nonna's do. She bought food, entertained the toddler, held the newborn and fussed a bit.

After she left, my client told me about how they go to their nonna's regularly and it is a part of her and her children's upbringing.

It was heavily nostalgic for me because, well... I did the same. Every Sunday was dinner at nonna's house. Every single week until she moved out of her home. The women prepared the food, the men played cards, the kids ran around. I think of it often now and how I miss it terribly.

I told my client, I'd love to do a "documentary style" session at nonna's house because, God, how I wish I had something like that... And so, here we are.

And probably one of the most meaningful sessions I've done to date. Why? Because this one truly hit home. I WISH I had something like this from my nonna's home. But somehow, being here, with mostly strangers, it filled a void and felt familiar.

Capturing their nonno turning 90, surrounded by the one thing that matters most - FAMILY.

I'll never forget it. And now, they won't either xx

Their hands may be full, but their hearts are fuller.

I cannot believe this session was last year. I bet these two sweet hearts have grown so much already... What a privilege it was to spend time with them.

Time really is the biggest thief of all. My daughter turns 11 next week - ELEVEN!! It feels like just yesterday she was this tiny 🥹

Don't miss these opportunities to capture them like this. I know you might not feel quite like yourself, but trust me when I say, it's too fleeting to put off.

Nothing better than when families who live abroad, work their annual photoshoot into their itinerary.

Our second session together and it truly was just a good ol' catch up. They had a whirlwind trip from the UK, seeing immediate family, travelling interstate, BUT they still made time to create these memories with their loved ones who live here.

The laughs, the energy, the slower pace of watching the sun go down... you just can't replace this stuff.

Thank you guys, your family is pure delight ✨️
