Down South, WA — salty air and almost perfect conditions 👌

We ducked away for a few days and explored so many spots along the coastline — some well-known, some that only the locals would recognise 😏

It felt so good to get the drone up in glassy conditions like this (rare and magical), and I got to use my big zoom again… every single time I use that lens I’m blown away by what it can do. The compression, the detail, the way it pulls everything together — obsessed 😍

We chased light, quiet beaches, winding tracks, and those little hidden corners that make Down South feel so special.

Liquid light 🌅

Some evenings the ocean doesn’t roar… it just melts.

This was one of those soft, glassy sunsets where everything felt slow and quiet. I was happily floating just watching the sky turn into layers of peach and blue, trying to capture that feeling of being completely surrounded by light.

No big waves. No drama. Just the gentle rise and fall of water and that golden glow reflecting off every ripple.

It’s moments like this that make me forget about cold water, shark sightings, and sandy camera gear 😂

Perth — sunset, cold water, and one absolute legend of a model 💪🌊

This shoot with .larpent was honestly one of the most fun — and freezing — shoots I’ve done.

Brooke had been training really hard and wanted to capture how her physique had transformed through all the hard work and dedication leading up to a competition. She was such a sport — diving straight into the water, trying every idea I threw her way, and laughing through the cold the whole time.

It ended up being one of those sessions that reminds you exactly why you love what you do. Challenging, creative and full of energy.

I’d love to do more in-water portrait shoots like this — it’s such a unique way to capture strength and personality 💙

Y C O'Connor beach — a salty reset 🌊☀️ 🏖️

I’d been full of cold all week and decided a dose of salty air, sand between my toes, and a quick dip might fix everything. Spoiler alert: it didn’t. 😂

But it was the first time since my hand and wrist surgery that I picked up the camera again — and even though my wrist gave me a gentle reminder that it’s still healing, it felt so bloody good to be back behind the lens.

My lovely husband and our German Shepherd, Poppy, were my very patient models for the afternoon (Poppy nailed it, obviously 🐾). I shot with my 70–200mm — my big birther of a lens — which always delivers the most buttery backgrounds for portraits.

Sitting on the sand, camera in hand, watching the light shift 🤗 that’s when it hit me how much I’d missed this. It's been a long drawn out recovery but I'm definitely on the mend now ❤️

I’m already planning the locations for a few shoots for an upcoming trip down to Denmark and Margaret River, and I can’t wait to explore some new coastline again.

Port Beach, WA 🌅

This was taken the night before a shark sighting made national news — and yep, I was bobbing around right where it happened.

The ocean looked like liquid gold, calm and endless, and I remember thinking, “I could stay here forever.”

Then I saw the headline the next morning… and suddenly forever felt a little too long 😂🦈

I’ll get back in soon (maybe at a slightly safer beach).

Be honest — should I just get over it? 😂 🦈
