This might not be the best tiger shark I’ve ever taken, but the story behind this one is more than any other I have taken.

For over 3 years I tried to swim with the Tiger Sharks of Shark Bay, every time I got a glimpse of tail as they disappeared into the bay. This time was different. This time the water was beautifully clear, we spotted a tiger in the shallow waters of the South Passage, and most importantly, it was relaxed. We entered the water, the skipper of got closer to show the people on the boat, and in doing so the shark turned and headed straight for me.

That was the moment. I dived down, coming face to face with an over 3m apex predator. And in that moment, I got the shot I’ve been chasing for years.
